NVA presents the West Coast Premiere of SWEET STORM, 4/20-5/15

New Village Arts is proud to present the West Coast Premiere of Scott Hudson's two-hander SWEET STORM. Directed by Ensemble Member Daren Scott, SWEET STORM features Ensemble Member Adam Brick with Kelly Iversen as young newlyweds in 1960's Florida, spending their wedding night in a romantic treehouse built by Bo for his new wife Ruthie. SWEET STORM will be playing at New Village Arts Theatre (2787 State Street, Carlsbad Village) from April 20 - May 15, 2011. The official opening night is April 23 at 8 PM. Turner-Led HIGH Opens on Broadway Tonight, April 19!

HIGH opens tonight, Tuesday, April 19th 2011 at the Booth Theatre. HIGH stars Kathleen Turner, two-time Golden Globe winner, Academy Award & Tony Award nominee as 'Sister Jamison Connelly'. HIGH is a new play by Matthew Lombardo and directed by Rob Ruggiero.

What is the true meaning of justice? That is the question posed to audiences in A Time to Kill, the world premiere and first stage adaptation of a novel by John Grisham. By special arrangement with Daryl Roth and adapted for the stage by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), A Time to Kill brings the heat of the Deep South to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Directed by Ethan McSweeny (Broadway's Gore Vidal's 'The Best Man'), A Time to Kill runs May 6-June 19, 2011 in the Kreeger Theater.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for Tracy Letts' award-winning play, August: Osage County. Directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold, the dark comedy will run in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, May 7 - June 12. Preview performances run May 7 - May 11. Opening night is Thursday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Northern Stage And Sheffield Theatres Co-Produce VIRGINIA WOOLF, 3/16-4/30

Northern Stage (formerly Newcastle Playhouse) and Sheffield Theatres today announce their first collaboration, a new production of Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?". The production will be directed by Northern Stage's Artistic Director Erica Whyman. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" will play at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre (Wednesday 16 March - Thursday 7 April) and then continue to Northern Stage (Tuesday 12 April - Saturday 30 April).

HOME, COMEDY OF ERRORS, PORGY AND BESS & More Part of Court's New Season

Court Theatre proudly announces the company's fifty-sixth annual season, which opens with William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors directed by Sean Graney. The season continues with Samm-Art Williams's Home directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson and Sarah Ruhl's adaptation of Virginia Woolf's Orlando directed by Jessica Thebus. Artistic Director Charles Newell, Music Director Doug Peck and Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson will close the season with Gershwin and Heyward's Porgy and Bess. The 2010-11 season's fifth play, to be directed by Charles Newell, is yet to be determined; the complete season will be performed at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue in Hyde Park.
