The Willows Theatre Company is proud to present the wild and wildly popular Tony-winning musical, Avenue Q. The 'adult Sesame Street' romp features both puppets and live actors and is known for its high-energy, naughty fun. Avenue Q will be staged June 21 through August 1 at the Campbell Theatre, 626 Ward Street in Martinez as part of The Willows' 'NextFest' series and a season 'extra.'

The Tony Award-winning actor BILLY CRUDUP will star in the world-premiere of Adam Rapp's play THE METAL CHILDREN, which begins previews May 4 prior to opening May 19, 2010 at the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.), it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director of the Vineyard. Directed by Adam Rapp, additional casting for the play is to be announced.

Following an acclaimed season which included the New York Premiere of Anna Deavere Smith's Let Me Down Easy and the Broadway transfer of the musical hit Everyday Rapture, Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced three plays for its upcoming 32nd Season.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will continue its popular Shakespeare Salon series on Monday, May 24 at 6 p.m. Shakespeare Initiative Director Barry Edelstein will moderate a discussion on 'Making Shakespeare in the Park: Onstage and Backstage,' featuring a cross-section of cast, crew and creative team members from this summer's repertory productions of The Winter's Tale and The Merchant of Venice at Shakespeare in the Park.

Lortel Statues for 14 categories and 2 special awards were handed out by celebrity presenters at the 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards at a live awards ceremony tonight at Terminal 5. Rep Stage, the professional Equity theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), will end its production of Eric Overmyer's 'On the Verge or The Geography of Yearning' on May 2nd. Mel Gussow, in his New York Times review of 'On the Verge...' wrote, 'Blending Tom Stoppard's limber linguistics with the historic overview of a Thornton Wilder, Mr. Overmyer takes his audience on a mirthful safari that leads from darkest Africa to Terra Incognita, spinning into time travel.'

Previews are to begin October 6, with an official opening night and casting TBA.

The Language Archive, written by Julia Cho will end its run April 25 at the South Coast Repertory Theatre. Recipient of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the show features Leo Marks, Betsy Brandt, Laura Heisler, Tony Amendola and Linda Gehringer.
