The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced the return of Broadway's funniest broad, Jackie Hoffman.

The Hole in the Wall Theater, New Britain's home for edgy and intriguing plays and musicals, takes on four world premiere one-act comedies by Connecticut playwright Jacques Lamarre. In a riotous evening entitled Jacques Lamarre Has Gone Too Far, characters push beyond the boundaries of normal, everyday situations into some rather bad behavior. Inspired by John Waters, Saturday Night Live and the Ridiculous Theatrical Company, Jacques Lamarre Has Gone Too Far is a whacked-out look at life today. The production, not suitable for younger viewers, runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. November 18 through December 10. There are two Sunday Matinees at 2 p.m. on November 27 and December 4.

The halls (of the Calderwood Pavilion) are alive with the sound of…laughter, generated by the SpeakEasy Stage production of Charles Busch's 'The Divine Sister.' Directed by Larry Coen, the New England premiere of the 2010 hit Off-Broadway comedy stars Jeffery Roberson (aka Varla Jean Merman) and Boston favorites Paula Plum and Kathy St. George.

Glenn Poppleton (Producer) announced that Lucky Guy, a new musical comedy, will end its limited engagement following the evening performance on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. The show, which began previews at the Little Shubert Theatre (422 West 42nd Street, between 9th & Dyer Avenues) on April 29 and opened on Thursday, May 19, will have played 23 preview performance and 14 regular performances. The production had been announced to run through July 24.

On Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th at 7:30pm, Tom Judson returns to Dixon Place with The Tom Judson Show. This brand new cabaret show features Tom Judson aka 'Gus Mattox' at the piano, fresh on the heels of his great success touring to sold-out audiences with Canned Ham and Varla Jean Merman's The Loose Chanteuse in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Key West and most recently in Cancun for Atlantis Events.

Unless the names 'Noel' and 'Coward' are involved, I tend to be a bit wary about musicals with the book, music, lyrics and direction all by the same person, but Willard Beckham makes a very entertaining go of it with his campy, country/western musical comedy, Lucky Guy.
