Lila Downs to Play Chan Centre, 4/26

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) is delighted to welcome the soulful, singular presence that is Lila Downs on Sunday, April 26 at 7pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. The GRAMMY-Award winning singer/songwriter, and social activist, will perform works from her anticipated forthcoming 11th studio album, Balas y Chocolate (Bullets and Chocolate), to be released worldwide later this month.

Jessie Mueller & Broadway All-Star Chorus to Perform Family Concert at Carnegie Hall

On Saturday, April 18 at 3:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) joins musical director and co-host Leslie Stifelman and director and choreographer Melissa Rae Mahon from Chicago: The Musical, co-host Thomas Cabaniss, and The Broadway All-Star Chorus-comprising top performers from the Great White Way-for a fun, interactive Carnegie Hall Family Concert that gives parents and their children the opportunity to sing and dance along with their favorite Broadway numbers.

SPAMALOT, THE LION, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and More Set for Geva Theatre's 2015-16 Season

Four productions still remain in Geva Theatre Center's 42nd Season: A Body of Water, Lee Blessing's play of memory and identity; The Mountaintop, a reimagining of Martin Luther King's last night on earth; the world premiere of Cass Morgan's journey to discover her roots - The Road to Where; and the season's grand finale, the laugh-out-loud comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The 2014-2015 Season continued Geva's innovative efforts to connect patrons and artists and art with the community. The 2015-2016 Season will continue to build on that and also usher in a new era as Geva's historic home begins to undergo renovation and transformation.

Opera Parallèle Presents U.S. Premiere of Tarik O'Regan's HEART OF DARKNESS, 5/1-3

Hard on the heels of the highly successful premiere of its acclaimed new production of Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking in February, Opera Parallèle will present the U.S. premiere of Tarik O'Regan's Heart of Darkness May 1-3 at Z Space in San Francisco. The opera will be staged in an innovative new production overseen by Opera Parallèle Creative Director Brian Staufenbiel, with Artistic Director Nicole Paiement conducting. Performances are Friday, May 1, at 8 pm; Saturday, May 2, at 2 pm and 8 pm; and Sunday, May 3, at 2 pm; Z Space is located at 450 Florida Street in San Francisco. Tickets are priced $30-$85 and may be purchased at www.operaparallele.org .

The Theater Project to Present MOONLIGHT & MAGNOLIAS, 3/26

The Theater Project, an award-winning, professional theater in Maplewood, NJ, will usher in spring with thepresentation of Moonlight & Magnolias on March 26th at the Burgdorff Cultural Center in Maplewood, New Jersey. Set in 1939 Hollywood, Moonlight & Magnolias tells the story of the mid-production rewriting of the original screenplay to Gone with the Wind, one of the most successful and beloved films of all time. The production of Moonlight & Magnolias will run on Thursdays through Sundays from March 26th through April 12th but will be closed for Easter Sunday on April 5th.

LA Opera Performs NOAH'S FLOOD Tonight

LA Opera professional artists will once again collaborate with more than 300 amateur members of the Los Angeles musical community to present two performances of Benjamin Britten's Noah's Flood this spring at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Conducted by LA Opera Music Director James Conlon, the performances will take place at 7:30pm tonight, March 6, and at 7:30pm on Saturday, March 7.

BWW Reviews: SHEAR MADNESS at The Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts

After 27 years, the crowd pleasing SHEAR MADNESS at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has become the 2nd longest-running theatrical production in the country, second only to the same production at the Charles Playhouse in Boston. According to press notes, the play has now been seen by a worldwide audience of 10.9 million with over 3.2 million people attending the Kennedy Center production alone.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy to Perform at Arcadia Performing Arts Center, 3/27

Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation continues its 2015 Season with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Friday, March 27 at 8pm. Known for their big-band, swing revival sound, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's hits include "Go Daddy-O," "You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)" and "Mr. Pinstripe Suit."
