Saycon Sengbloh & More Will Join Lupita Nyong'o in ECLIPSED at The Public

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the New York premiere of ECLIPSED, written by Danai Gurira. Directed by Obie Award winner Liesl Tommy and featuring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o in her New York stage debut, this powerful story of survival and resilience begins previews at The Public Theater Tuesday, September 29 and runs through Sunday, November 8, with an official press opening on Wednesday, October 14.

the side project Extends WHATEVER Through 8/23

the side project's World Premiere production of Robert Tenges'  Whatever has been extended two weeks, and will now close Sunday, August 23, 2015. The company's Artistic Director Adam Webster made the announcement Monday. The Chicago Tribune gave the production 3-1/2 stars, saying 'Small word choices reveal universes.' New City said "Webster and his crackerjack cast execute with deft attention to detail."

Near the end of his exceptional new show, Very Good Years: The Intimate Sinatra at the Metropolitan Room, Richard Malavet recalls famed radio personality William B. Williams who once said: "Frank Sinatra is the most imitated, most listened to, most recognized voice of the 20th century." Williams did not exaggerate. Consequently, in this centennial year of Sinatra's birth, there will be many observations of the man known as "The Voice." For his tribute to Sinatra, Malavet did his homework. 11 Workshops to be Offered at the Sarasota Improv Festival

Festival fans will get the opportunity to explore their inner comedian alongside the professionals at this year's Sarasota Improv Festival. Techniques for musical improv, emotional recall, flashform, sketch writing for television, and more will be taught during a series of 11 different workshops. Taught by cast members from some of the hottest improv groups from the United States and even far away as Spain, workshops will be held on Saturday, July 11. All sessions are $29. DIMENSION 111 is Released

Writing his fictional novel is basically an obsession that started when Rafael Arcaya Cruzado was about 20-years old. He simply could not stop thinking about it and would daydream for hours. Even when he sleeps, he dreams about it. He could not take it out of his mind. This inclination led him to publish 'Dimension 111,' (published by Xlibris) a thought-provoking novel that takes a closer look at immortality and its effects on living beings.

In a dilapidated house near the ever-shifting mouth of the Mississippi, Shelah's family gathers on a stormy night for her birthday -- bringing ghosts and secrets of the past with them. As her roof buckles under the weight of the rain, Shelah's convictions begin to wash away, leaving her to excavate the truths buried below. Directed by Tina Landau, the riveting Head of Passes comes to the Bay Area straight from its critically lauded world premiere in Chicago. Head of Passes is a co-production with the Public Theater in New York. It begins previews on Berkeley Rep's intimate Thrust Stage today, April 10, opens today, April 17, and runs through Sunday, May 24, 2015. Press night for Head of Passes will be held today, April 17, 2015.
