Recognizing the increasing consciousness about green sustainability and its effects within the music industry, The Recording Academy and Waste Management - the 'official recycling partner' of The Academy and 53rd GRAMMY Awards - are partnering to present Show Me The Green Light: A Conversation About Greening The Music Industry, a discussion focusing on the incorporation of a reduce, reuse and recycle philosophy and its emerging presence in an ever-changing industrial climate. To be held on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, 10:30 a.m.- noon at theConga Room at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, the guest panel will feature a diverse array of eco-conscious individuals in their respective fields, including Sony Electronics Director of Mobile Music Mike Kahn; Vans Warped Tour creator/founder Kevin Lyman; Senior Group Manager of The Clorox Company Drew McGowan; House of Marley Entrepreneur and son of Bob Marley Rohan Marley; and Senior Director of Digital Business Support for Universal Music Group Kathleen Strouse. Other featured guests include CEO/Co-Founder of Opportunity Green Karen Solomon and New House LLC Sustainable Strategist Lewis Perkins, with Waste Management's Director of Customer Alliances and Solutions Wanda Williams moderating.

The first publicity images for the new Broadway musical Baby It's You! have been released! Baby It's You! tells the inspiring story of Florence Greenberg, the woman who changed the recording world forever when she discovered The Shirelles and created Scepter Records, becoming the music industry's first female powerhouse. Starring Tony Award winner Beth Leavel as Greenberg, conceived by Floyd Mutrux, directed by Floyd Mutrux and Sheldon Epps, and written by Tony nominated book writers Mutrux and Colin Escott, the team behind Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet, Baby It's You! begins performances at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) Saturday, March 26, 2011, and opens Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 6:30pm. Baby It's You! features a cast of 19 that includes Allan Louis, Geno Henderson, Erica Ash, Kelli Barrett, Kyra DaCosta, Crystal Starr Knighton, Barry Pearl, Christina Sajous, Brandon Uranowitz, Alison Cimmet, Erica Dorfler, Berlando Drake, Adam Heller, Jahi A. Mutrux's BABY, IT'S YOU Musical to Play Broadhurst in Spring with Leavel in Talks to Star?

Variety reported back in July that that the biographical musical about composer Florence Greenberg by Million Dollar Quartet producer and book writer Floyd Mutrux is being prepped for a 2011 Broadway opening. Entitled Baby, It's You, Variety reported that the musical is aiming to open in the winter of 2011, co- directed by Mutrux and Sheldon Epps. Mutrux and Epps also collaborated on the Pasadena Playhouse production in November of 2009. The show premiered at the Coast Playhouse in Los Angeles prior to its Pasadena run.
Now, in today's New York Post, Michael Riedel reports that the show is now aiming to open this Spring at the Broadhurst Theatre. He reports that Beth Leavel is in negotiations to play the lead role of Lorence Greenberg.

Before Lee DeWyze became an Idol on America's favorite singing contest, he wrote and recorded two albums in his hometown with an all star band including Louis Svitek, previously of Ministry, MOD and Mind Funk, Rob Bonaccorsi, from Freddy Jones Band and Ryan McGuire. Wuli is proud to announce a new collaboration with Universal Music Group/Fontana Distribution to bring these two albums to a broader audience so that fans can discover the rawness of Lee's early work. 'Slumberland', the first release of this new partnership is available today on iTunes and retailers nationwide. A remixed and remastered version of the album 'So I'm Told' will be available November 9. Wuli also has a limited number of raw video footage of Lee available to broadcast outlets and select web venues.

Time to fist pump! MTV and Universal Republic Records will give music fans the ultimate summer playlist when the Jersey Shore Soundtrack is released on Tuesday, July 20th. Inspired by the breakout hit series, the album will include original tracks from some of today's hottest artists.
