The Broadway bound production of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS will conclude its run at the Guthrie Theater on September 25, 2010, following an eight-week engagement that has played to full houses and standing ovations every night. Lauded by critics and audiences as a daring and wildly entertaining musical that explores a fascinating chapter in American history with brilliant originality, this thrilling final collaboration by musical theater giants JOHN KANDER and FRED EBB continues to spark community conversation well beyond the final bows.

Joe Dowling of the Guthrie Theater and Margot Harley of The Acting Company have announced an expanded touring season beginning and ending in New York. This will be the third joint tour for the two TONY-winning theaters and will feature co-productions of Shakespeare's ROMEO AND JULIET directed by Penny Metropulos in repertory with THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, directed by Ian Belknap. Ms. Metropulos has directed at Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 19 years; Mr. Belknap, Associate Artistic Director of The Acting Company, has apprenticed under several master directors including Mark Lamos and Doug Hughes.

The Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for the world premiere stage production of acclaimed Minnesota author Louise Erdrich's The Master Butchers Singing Club, which will kick off the 2010-11 season on the Wurtele Thrust Stage.

Westport Public Library is pleased to announce that The Malloy Lecture in the Arts will be held on Thursday, September 16, at 7:00 pm. Producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave will return to the New York stage this Fall to star opposite one another in the Broadway Premiere of Alfred Uhry‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy.
