William Shakespeare's classic comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream is re-imagined with a queer aesthetic in Mauckingbird Theatre Company's gender-bent tale of modern love, directed by Mauckingbird Artistic Director Peter Reynolds and co-Director Lynne Innerst.

With support from Temple University, Mauckingbird Theatre Company co-Founder and Artistic Director Peter Reynolds, in collaboration with Scott Gratson, was recently awarded a 2010 Provost Seed Grant in the amount of $36,500 to delve into a new project entitled Queer, Get Used to It.

Steppenwolf for Young Adults celebrates the 50th anniversary of the acclaimed American classic To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, dramatized by Christopher Sergel and directed by Hallie Gordon. The production features ensemble member Alan Wilder with Abu Ansari, Carolyn Defrin, James D. Farruggio, Caroline Heffernan, Franette Liebow, Zachary Keller, Larry Neumann Jr., Elaine Roth, Gary Simmers, Philip R. Smith, Sandra Watson, Bubba Weiler, Claire Wellin and Dexter Zollicoffer.

New Village Arts Theatre announces the opening of its TENTH SEASON of producing Ensemble-driven theatre! George Axelrod's classic American comedy THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH opens the season in high style with Equity Actor and Ensemble Member Daren Scott as Richard Sherman, a 1950's advertising man who sends his wife and son off to the beach for summer vacation and is left alone in his New York City apartment with an overactive imagination.

Five additional performances are added to the performance schedule of 'Sweet and Hot: The Songs of Harold Arlen,' produced by Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre in association with Michael James. Originally scheduled to close August 8, the show will now close August 15.

TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, has announced the line-up for its 2010-2011 season. Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and Managing Director Phil Santora announced a 41st season that will include three world premieres (bringing the company's total to 56); three regional premieres including the newest play by the author of AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, Broadway's quirky hit musical about writers writing a quirky hit musical and a spell-binding mystery about a Japanese-American veteran charged with murder; and two Broadway favorites.
