the cell presents two solo plays that respectively explore the life and work of playwrights Tennessee Williams and Samuel Beckett - the New York premiere of Jeremy Lawrence's A LONELY MAN'S HABIT and the return engagement of Bob Jaffe's ...AND THEN YOU GO ON, AN ANTHOLOGY OF THE WORKS OF SAMUEL BECKETT - performed in repertory March 23-April 16 as part of SEE-SAW SOLO FESTIVAL at the cell (338 West 23rd Street) in the heart of Chelsea.

Shakespeare Festival St. Louis Announces Cast for THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, 5/25-6/19

Shakespeare Festival St. Louis has announced the cast of its May 25-June 19 production, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. 'Once again the Festival has attracted top-tier talent from across the country, and we are in for a fantastic season,' says Executive Director Rick Dildine. As previously announced Sean Graney will direct the production with a design team that includes Scott C. Neale (Scenic Designer), Alison Siple (Costume Designer), John Wylie (Lighting Designer) and Robin Weatherall (Sound Designer).

Sarah Ruhl & Les Waters Join Forces for THREE SISTERS at Berkeley Rep

Audiences and critics on both coasts embraced Eurydice and In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), two shows steeped in longing from playwright Sarah Ruhl and director Les Waters. Now this talented team turns its attention to a fresh translation of a masterpiece: Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters. Ruhl enlivens this classic with the same elegant understanding of intimacy that infused those earlier collaborations, while Waters and a cast of 14 deliver another sumptuous production. This West Coast premiere begins previews on Berkeley Rep's intimate Thrust Stage on April 8, opens April 13, and runs through May 22. Three Sisters is a co-production between Berkeley Rep, where Waters serves as associate artistic director, and Yale Repertory Theatre.

THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL Plays Clevland Playhouse, Closes 2/27

A haunting American classic, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL marks the first Cleveland Play House production of a work by Pulitzer Prize- and Academy Award-winner Horton Foote, and the world-premiere performance of this play by an African-American cast. Receiving the blessing of Hallie Foote, daughter of the playwright, this co-production with Round House Theatre is helmed by Timothy Douglas and stars preeminent African-American actress Lizan Mitchell as Carrie Watts. THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL begins in the Drury Theatre at Cleveland Play House on Friday, February 4 and runs through Sunday, February 27, 2011. The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) committee has just announced its 2010 IRNE Award nominations, and Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston has earned 17 for its 2010 season. Included in the Large Theater category, Reagle Music Theatre is judged alongside Boston's Huntington Theatre Company, Cambridge's A.R.T., Trinity Repertory Company of Providence, RI, Maine's Ogunquit Playhouse, and the North Shore Music Theatre of Beverly.

Public Theater Adds 2 Performances to COMPULSION

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Interim Executive Director Joey Parnes) has added two additional performances to the world premiere production of Rinne Groff's COMPULSION, directed by Oskar Eustis and featuring Hannah Cabell, Matte Osian and Mandy Patinkin.
