Burning Coal Theatre Company will close its 15th season with the world premiere of Jude the Obscure, Parts 1 & 2 by Ian Finley, with music and lyrics by Thomas Hardy, Bruce Benedict, Jerome Davis and Jonathan Fitts. The production will run April 12 - May 5, 2012 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm (April 12 - 14, 19 - 21, 26 - 28 and May 3 - 5, 2012), Saturdays at 2 pm (April 21, 28 and May 5, 2012) and Sundays at 2 pm (April 15, 22, 29, 2012). Sunday, April 15 (Part 1) and Sunday, April 22nd (Part 2) at 2 pm are our 'Pay What You Can' days. Those performances will also be Audio Described. Based on popular demand, an additional presentation of 'Acting for the Camera' will be presented by Las Cruces filmmaker Johnny Tabor and Deming actor Algernon D'Ammassa. On Saturday, April 14, Tabor and D'Ammassa will once again team up and teach a one-day intensive acting class for film and television.

This week the National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) announced four finalists in its video competition aimed at highlighting the importance of theater education's contribution to crucial skill development needed for the 21st century workforce. Over 5,000 votes were cast on NCTF's Facebook page, which received over 13,000 visits during the competition.

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today the theater's 2012-13 season, which will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center and the historic Kalita Humphreys Theater. DTC's 54th season will include three world premieres; two new musicals; the culmination of DTC's four-year Shakespeare cycle; and several nationally acclaimed plays making their North Texas debut.

It is with sadness and regret that Trinity Repertory Company responds to the death of Milton Stanzler, 91, the instrumental force behind the creation of Trinity Repertory Company, and Chairman of the Board for the theater's first twelve years.

Trinity Rep resident acting company member Joe Wilson, Jr. will be honored by the Rhode Island Black Heritage Society later this month. An annual Black History Month tradition, the event will take place on Saturday, February 18 from 2 - 4 PM at the Metacomet Country Club in East Providence.
