Tribeca Film Festival Shares 2018 Feature Film Program

The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, revealed its feature film lineup championing the discovery of emerging voices and celebrating new work from established filmmaking talent. To close the Festival, Tribeca will World Premiere The Fourth Estate, from Oscar®-nominated director Liz Garbus, which follows The New York Times' coverage of the Trump administration's first year. The Centerpiece Gala will be the World Premiere of Drake Doremus' sci-fi romance Zoe starring Ewan McGregor, Lea Seydoux, Rashida Jones, and Theo James. The 2018 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 18-29.

La Jolla Playhouse Announces Projects for 2018 DNA New Work Series

La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to bring back for a sixth year its acclaimed new play development initiative, the DNA New Work Series, a weekend of readings of new works, taking place March 22 - 25, 2018 in the Playhouse's Rao and Padma Makeneni Play Development Center. Arden Theatre Company Presents V TO X

In the 2nd production under their residency with Philadelphia's Arden Theatre Company, "V to X", GoKash OnSTAGE offers more food for thought regarding the current state of the U.S. justice system. Particularly in its treatment of blacks. Running March 28th through April 15th, "V to X" follows a successful debut with Arden, "Seventy IV Seconds… to judgment" last fall. "V to X" is written and will be directed by GoKash' founder, Kash Goins, a native of South Philadelphia.

But long before that fame, Takei was born in Boyle Heights and spent his childhood in the Rohwer Incarceration Camp in Arkansas and later at Tule Lake in Northern California during World War II. His story of resilience and hope is the inspiration for ALLEGIANCE, a new Broadway musical making its Los Angeles premiere, co-produced by East West Players (EWP) and Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) at JACCC's 900-seat Aratani Theatre in Los Angeles through April 1, 2018.

This deeply American story – about immigration and national identity, civil rights and human justice; about how we define who can be an American, and what being an American means, is directed by Emmy-winning Directors Ric Burns and Li-Shin Yu.

BWW Feature: ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST Presented By the MID-OHIO VALLEY PLAYERS

Mid-Ohio Valley Player's moving and comedic rendition of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest will be heading to the Player's Theatre stage in March. The play, adapted by Dale Wasserman from Ken Kesey's brilliant novel, made its Broadway debut in 1963 and has been revived multiple times, winning a Tony Award for Best Play Revival in 2001. The show features music by Teiji Ito.

Moderators & Panelists Announced For Women's Day on Broadway

Disney Theatrical Productions and Frozen have partnered with The Actors Fund to celebrate International Women's Day with two special events: "Women's Day on Broadway: Celebrating Stories By, For & About Women," a free symposium that will take place at The St. James Theatre and a special performance of Frozen to benefit The Actors Fund and its Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative. The events aim to highlight the importance of a continued investment in the encouragement and mentorship of women that is crucial to establishing and maintaining gender equality in the Broadway community.
