THE BOYS IN THE BAND Cast to Host Midnight Performance of THREE TALL WOMEN

Edward Albee's Three Tall Women will play a special Midnight Performance as a benefit for The Actors Fund. The production, directed by Joe Mantello, opened on Broadway on March 29 to ecstatic reviews. Last week, Mantello's production of The Boys in the Band started previews on Broadway. BROADWAY UNLOCKED Announces Updated Performance Lineup For The #giveback Concert

Broadway Unlocked founder Jessica Ryan announced today that the performance lineup for the sixth annual #giveback concert slated for Sunday, May 13 at 7.30pm at WNYC's The Greene Space (44 Charlton Street) has been updated.  Along with producers Kelly Weaver and Mike Borges, Broadway Unlocked is bringing Broadway favorites together to perform and raise funds for the Crime Victims Treatment Center, a not-for-profit organization committed to helping people heal from violent crime.  The live concert is directed by Nathan Tysen (Tuck Everlasting, Amelie). 

Lewis Brice and Tin Roof Team Up for Lewispalooza 8 on June 5 + Lineup to be Announced

 Lewis Brice and Tin Roof will be teaming up for the annual benefit concert, Lewispalooza 8, to be held on June 5 outside of Tin Roof Demonbreun in Nashville. The event, which has been called the unofficial kick-off of CMA Music Fest, raises funds and brings awareness for Hope Song, a non-profit using music to help bring cancer patients hope. Brice and friends will perform for crowd of fans and music industry alike through a nearly six hour concert that has become a highly anticipated evening.

HBO and Keshet International Partner on New Drama Created by Hagai Levi, Joseph Cedar, Tawfik Abu Wael & Noah Stollman

HBO and Keshet International (KI) are co-producing a drama based on true events which unfolded in Israel in 2014. HBO has given a ten-episode order for the untitled series, which is being filmed on location in Israel. The series is created by Hagai Levi ((Golden Globe for 'The Affair'; HBO's 'In Treatment'), Israeli filmmaker Joseph Cedar (the Oscar(R)-nominated 'Beaufort,' 'Footnote,' 'Norman'), Tawfik Abu Wael ('Thirst,' 'Last Days in Jerusalem,' 'Waiting for Salah El Din') and Noah Stollman ('Pillars of Smoke,' 'The Exchange Principle'). Cedar and Abu Wael will also direct.

Live Source Theatre Group Presents The World Premiere Of SUDDENLY At HERE This Fall

Live Source Theatre Group (Tyler Mercer, Co-Founder & Artistic Director; Chris Dieman, Co-Founder & Artist in Residence), as part of their 7th season, presents a limited engagement of a new play SUDDENLY, based on the classic 1954 noir film starring Frank Sinatra, adapted by Gianfranco Settecasi after the screenplay by Richard Sale, directed by Tyler Mercer. SUDDENLY will be staged at HERE (145 6th Avenue). Performances begin October 5th, and the show opens on October 7th, 2018. The limited engagement runs through Saturday, October 20th, 2018.

Children's Music Fund Awarded Grant by the Water Buffalo Club to Help Children at Local Hospitals

Los Angeles-based Children's Music Fund, a leading national children's music therapy charity, has been awarded funding by The Water Buffalo Club, a charitable organization dedicated to fostering the well-being of underserved and at-risk children in Los Angeles, for five customized music carts to support in-hospital music therapy sessions for underserved and chronically-ill children at their bedside or in group sessions. White Memorial Medical Center will be the first of five hospitals in Greater Los Angeles to have a co-sponsored cart available for music therapy sessions.

Nan Goldin And Lydia Lunch Honored By The Kitchen At Spring 2018 Gala

The Kitchen's Spring 2018 Gala celebrates Nan Goldin and Lydia Lunch, two iconic American artists whose careers were borne of, deeply influenced, and have now engrained in collective memory the underground artistic spirit and political underpinnings of pre-gentrification Downtown New York subcultures (May 16). The evening features performances by New York's own post-punk band Bush Tetras, saxophonist and vocalist James Chance, and Australian singer JG Thirlwell & Ensemble with special guests. The after-party, hosted by Nicolas Jaar, will include a DJ set by Veronica Vasicka as well as performances by Retrovirus along with Lydia Lunch.

Lily Lisa, Philanthropist, Humanitarian Wins 2018 Producers Choice Award for Documentary Film of the Year

The 2018 Producers Choice Honors Las Vegas presented 'Lucky' Lily Lisa with her second award for the documentary 'As Always Stay By Me.' The Hard Rock Live in Las Vegas was the setting for Ms. Lisa to receive the 2018 honor from the Film, Art, Music, and Entertainment Awards (F.A.M.E.). Lily Lisa previously received the Special Jury Award for Outstanding Documentary from the US Hollywood International Film Festival (now the US Hollywood International Golden Film Award), a prestigious festival held in Los Angeles annually. The Producers Choice Honors has high standards set for picking recipients based on factors other than just high box office gross or large commercial success. From thousands of submissions, Production quality of music or film, talent level of the artist nominee and most importantly, the inspiration provided to others by the chosen recipients are the main considerations used in this events' production. It is this inspirational quality that set apart 'As Always Stay By Me' to receive this years' honor. 'As Always Stay By Me' is a documentary addressing homelessness in Los Angeles. Camera's followed Lily Lisa sharing her love of giving back to a community that needs it most; some of the city's most impoverished citizens. The fashion icon stepped to the stage to receive her award in a red Stello design accessorized with black stiletto boots, just the right fit for the Hard Rock. As one of the top five recipients, Lily Lisa touched the audience with her deeply moving acceptance speech. Lily Lisa is an actress, model, executive producer, philanthropist and humanitarian using her voice and production company, Lily Lisa Hollywood, to shine the light not only on the Hollywood community but also as an ambassador with a vision to touch lives and inspire others. Lily Lisa works from the heart to help those less fortunate. It has been her desire from a young age, in Hong Kong, to help people and she makes it a priority. While traveling for her business, Lily also goes out to share her gift of encouragement with the down and out in the area. Many have come to know her and gladly receive her into their communities as a non-threatening presence. She is recognized on the streets as someone who demonstrates that she cares, by returning and seeking out people she has talked with and helped previously while getting to know others in the community. Lily Lisa spends time talking and laughing with these men and women and children, giving much needed hugs and other support. Many outside her world may misunderstand her intentions or think she is self-serving but Lily Lisa works from her heart and does not pay any mind to naysayers. She also received a Certificate of Congressional Recognition, from US Congresswoman Judy Chu. Uncategorizable, Brilliant, and Profound: Bernstein's CANDIDE at the Washington National Opera

When you hear the first few notes of the rollicking overture, you know Bernstein is genuflecting hard to Johann Strauss. Yet this is a story in which the principal characters are bayoneted, hanged, maimed, raped, prostituted, ravaged by disease, and enslaved, among other things, a story which, thematically, takes the characters and us right to the edge of the Nietzschean abyss and gives us a good long sobering look into it - not the sort of thing Strauss or Gilbert and Sullivan ever did.

Batman and the whole Gotham gang, finally get the Anime treatment when they are whisked away to medieval Japan in Batman Ninja, now available on Digital and out on Blu-ray Steelbook, DVD and Blu-ray Combo Pack on May 8th. Breaking Glass to Release HOOKED, Max Emerson's LGBT Homeless Youth Focused Feature With Support In Mind

Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired North American rights to writer/director Max Emerson's poignant LGBTQ tale HOOKED. Breaking Glass acquired rights to the film in April in a deal negotiated between Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff and Max Emerson on behalf of the Hooked Project. The film will open theatrically in Los Angeles on June 1, followed by a DVD & VOD release on June 5, 2018.
