RAZORHOUSE Releases 6-Song EP 'Jun' Today

Abby's Agenda to Play THT Cabaret, 9/12

The THT Cabaret opens a new season with the Charlotte trio, Abby's Agenda, on Thursday evening, September 12. Abby Sheldon-Dean sings familiar and not-so-familiar jazz standards, Tom Waits covers, and more, backed by husband Jim Sheldon-Dean on Fender bass, and Jim Salisbury on drums.

The album finds Dessner collaborating with Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet, who are currently celebrating their 40th anniversary season.

Actress Lauren Stanford Wins 2013 MetroStar Talent Challenge

The actress Lauren Stanford pulled off a dramatic win last night, as she became the 2013 MetroStar at the Metropolitan Room in New York. A Kansas City native with musical theatre credits, Stanford edged out her four co-finalists in tight scoring that belied how strong and evenly matched this year's MetroStar Talent Challenge Top 5 had become.

Bandaloop Presents HARBORING at Fort Mason Center, Now thru 7/21

BANDALOOP, the Bay Area's acclaimed vertical dance company, is proud to present Harboring, a new hour long, multi-dimensional dance by Amelia Rudolph in collaboration with assistant artistic director Rachael Lincoln and the dancers of BANDALOOP, with art direction by celebrated designer Jack Carpenter. Staged in and around Fort Mason Center's iconic Festival Pavilion and inspired by Fort Mason's past and present, this world premiere moves through images of travel, memory, the fluidity of the ocean, rope craft and maritime industry using the medium of site-reactive multi-dimensional dance. Harboring will engage the space and interactive set pieces including a stack of shipping containers and a swinging frame/vessel to draw the viewer into an immersive experience.

The Major League Baseball All-Star break (the game is on Tuesday night) has always been considered the midpoint of the season and as a lifelong fan I've always enjoyed reading those analyses from writers that assess the best performances of the first half.
