Celebrated singer Linda Eder will bring her diverse repertoire of Broadway, standards, pop, country and jazz to this year's Bucks County Cabaret (#buckscountycabaret), a one-night-only concert produced by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The intimate evening of song will be held tonight, October 4, 2014, at the historic Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA.

Broadway fans found everything from rare opening night gifts to classic original Playbills, met their favorite stars and bid on once-in-a-life-time experiences to push the grand total raised Sunday, September 21, 2014, at the 28th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction to an all-time high of $713,986, for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Starting today and continuing throughout September, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is running the ultimate auction of A Chorus Line memorabilia on eBay. More than 50 lots of singularly sensational and unforgettable collectibles from the unique collection of Gary Stevens and the late Alan George will be auctioned online with a portion of proceeds benefiting Broadway Cares.

Veteran union activist Joseph Ruskin has posthumously received the 2014 Patrick Quinn Award for Distinguished Service to Actors presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation. Ruskin, who joined Equity in 1952, served on the Council from 1979 until his death on December 28, 2013 at the age of 89. The award will be presented in Los Angeles to his wife, Barbara Ruskin, at the Equity Council meeting on Tuesday, July 15th.

Broadway star and animal advocate Bernadette Peters will visit the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square to ring the Closing Bell in honor of Broadway Barks 16 tomorrow, July 11, 2014. Peters will be joined by Tom Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, as well as four puppies from Bide-A-Wee, one of Broadway Barks' participating shelters here in New York City at tomorrow's closing of the Nasdaq bell.

BROADWAY BARKS announces their 16th annual star-studded dog and cat adoption event featuring celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Founded by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, the event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will take place on Saturday, July 12 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you can meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The ninth annual edition of Broadway Backwards, a one-night-only performance produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefiting BC/EFA and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York, took place last night. This year's special event featured the talents of Michael Berresse (Kiss Me, Kate; A Chorus Line), Tony winner Beth Leavel (Elf, The Drowsy Chaperone), Tony winner Debra Monk (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, TV's 'Girls'), Ken Page (Ain't Misbehavin', Cats), Tony winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), Tony nominee Andrew Rannells(The Book of Mormon, TV's 'Girls'), Tony nominee John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, TV's 'Johnny and the Sprites.'), and more This year's edition of Broadway Backwards (#bwaybackwards) was held at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W 45th Street, NYC), current home to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots. Gingold Theatrical Group, under the leadership of David Staller, honored philanthropist Anita Jaffe and playwright/actor Charles Busch at its Annual Golden Shamrock Gala, earlier this week at Manhattan Penthouse (80 Fifth Ave at 14th Street). The GTG Golden Shamrock Award is given annually for artistic contribution to society. Past honorees include Terrence McNally, Judith Ivey, Brian Murray, and Robert Osborne. Just last night, beloved stage and screen star Debra Monk celebrated her 65th birthday in a free-wheeling rock 'n' roll concert produced by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Debra Monk Birthday Bash (#debrabday) featured the Tony Award winner and some of her most talented friends rollicking through a collection of their favorite rock and pop hits. Among those were two-time Tony nominee Charlotte D'Amboise, Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon, six-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis, four-time Tony nominee and six-time Emmy nominee Victor Garber, two-time Tony and Emmy Award winner Andrea Martin and Tony and Emmy nominee Ron Rifkin. Monday night, for two astonishing SOLD OUT performances, Joe's Pub became the backdrop for BroadwayWorld.com's 10th Anniversary celebration. The show conceived by Robert Diamond and Richard Jay-Alexander boasted talent from Broadway and beyond.

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) has announced that its 2013 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will total $1.4 million dollars, marking the largest single contribution in BC/EFA history and bringing the foundation's total contribution to BC/EFA to $8.35 million since 2005.

Kinky Boots stars Billy Porter, Stark Sands and Annaleigh Ashford and more joined the show's Tony Award-winning composer Cyndi Lauper for a special one-night-only True Colors Cabaret, last night, December 16th at Birdland (315 W 44th St). Lauper joined the cast of Kinky Boots to perform an eclectic array of standards, pop hits and other songs, with musical direction by the show's Tony Award-winning orchestrator Stephen Oremus.

At this year's dinner and holiday party set for tonight, Dancers Over 40 honors some of our outstanding - and long-time -- members: Advisory Board Members Chita Rivera (West Side Story, Bye, Bye Birdie, Bajour, Chicago, The Rink, Kiss of the Spiderwoman), and Bob Avian (Promises, Promises, Coco, Company, Follies, A Chorus Line, Ballroom), Board of Directors member Lawrence Merritt (Dear World, Applause, Pippin, Evita), and long-time DO40 members Skip Randall (Song of Norway, Make Mine Manhattan, Call Me Mister) and Louise Quick (Sweet Charity, Pippin, Best Little Whorehouse, and Fosse Assistant on Pippin, Liza with a Z and Cabaret). Also this year, DO40 is honoring Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Executive Director Tom Viola for his ongoing support of DO40 and our mission.
