The company of Broadway's The Visit gathered in the studio on April 27th to record the musical's original cast album. The Visit is the final musical ever written by legendary Oscar Award, Grammy Award and Tony Award-winning composer John Kander and his writing partner lyricist Fred Ebb, before Mr. Ebb passed away. Produced by the Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated producer Michael Croiter (Matilda, Big Fish, Heathers), The Visit album is now available. Producers announced today that The Visit starring Chita Rivera will play its final performance on Sunday, June 14th(3 PM). Previews began on March 26th and opening night was April 23, 2015. The Visit is at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street).

As previously reported, The Visit's Roger Rees has taken a leave from his role in the new Broadway musical The Visit, with Tom Nelis stepping in for the time being. Today, producers have released a statement on Rees' departure, confirming it's due to medical reasons.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Roger Rees is currently on leave from The Visit, and in his place, Tom Nelis is temporarily stepping in as Anton Schell. No word yet on the duration of the hiatus. Of note, the star has also been swapped out for Nelis on the show's official web site.
