The Visit, recently nominated for 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical, just  hosted a conversation with two iconic composers following last night's performance. Tony Award-winning composer of The Visit, John Kander, sat down with Tony Award winning composer of the upcoming Broadway musical Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda to chat about his writing process, working without Fred Ebb, finally bringing the show to Broadway, and more. This year's gala was hosted by Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski ('The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,' Nine) and featured special guest and Tony Award nominee for Airline Highway K. Todd Freeman, and performances by many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including: Beautiful, Finding Neverland, Gigi, It Shoulda Been You, On The Town, Something Rotten!, and The Visit. It was announced today that The Visit, recently nominated for 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical, will host a conversation with two iconic composers following the evening performance on Wednesday, May 20.  Tony Award-winning composer of The Visit, John Kander, will sit down with Tony Award winning composer of the upcoming Broadway musical Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda.  Tickets are available for this special performance and talkback at telecharge.com (212-239-6200). The Visit is on Broadway at the Lyceum Theater (149 West 45thStreet, NYC).  Time Out New York is the sponsor for the evening. 

A.R.T. Wins Seven 2015 Elliot Norton Awards

The A.R.T. won seven Elliot Norton Awards given by the Boston Theatre Critics Association honoring Boston's best theatre productions. The annual awards are named for Boston's dean of American drama critics, Elliot Norton, who died in 2003 at the age of 100, and were held last night, May 11 at the Citi Shubert Theatre.

BWW Reviews: The 33rd Annual Elliot Norton Awards

Gaiety ruled at the 33rd Annual Elliot Norton Awards ceremony as Ryan Landry, impresario of the Gold Dust Orphans, received the Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence, and comedian-actress-jazz musician Lea DeLaria was the Guest of Honor. Bragging rights went to American Repertory Theater with seven wins in the large theater categories, while Lyric Stage Company led all midsize theaters with four wins.

2015 Elliot Norton Awards Held Tonight; FINDING NEVERLAND Among Nominees

More than 25 nominations of outstanding actors, directors, designers and ensembles were nominated by The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA), with winners to be revealed at the 33nd Annual Elliot Norton Awards tonight, May 11, 2015 at 7 PM, at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre.

Donna McKechnie Talks Understudying Chita Rivera for THE VISIT

Tony Award-winner Donna McKechnie is the standby for the lead role of Claire Zachannassian in The Visit, currently playing on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). The actress recently spoke to the New York Post about acting as understudy for leading lady Chita Rivera.

The company of Broadway's The Visit gathered in the studio today, April 27th, to record the musical's original cast album. The Visit is the final musical ever written by legendary Oscar Award, Grammy Award and Tony Award-winning composer John Kander and his writing partner lyricist Fred Ebb, before Mr. Ebb passed away. Produced by the Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated producer Michael Croiter (Matilda, Big Fish, Heathers), The Visit album will be released June 26th, 2015. Photo Flash: George Takei Pays a Visit to Chita Rivera on Broadway

George Takei, who will soon be making his Broadway debut in 'Allegiance' next Fall took in Kander & Ebb's new musical 'The Visit' and made a backstage visit to congratulate Chita Rivera after the show. The two shared a 'trekkie' moment in her dressing room. Tomorrow the cast goes into the recording studio to record the original cast album which will be out in June.
