Lehman Center for the Performing Arts Presents SALSA CON AMOR, 2/11

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts continues its 31st season with SALSA CON AMOR, a sensuous Valentine's Day celebration of love for one night with three of Salsa's most popular and gifted soneros: ISMAEL MIRANDA, JOSÉ ALBERTO "EL CANARIO" and DOMINGO QUIÑONES on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 8pm. This all-star concert, featuring classic Salsa hits spanning over 40 years, is produced by Lehman Center and Jose Raposo.

CHICO & RITA Opens at Angelika Film Center, 2/10

CHICO & RITA, set in the jazz worlds of Havana, New York, and Europe, opens its US theatrical run on February 10 at NYC's Angelika Film Center (18 W. Houston St., 212-995-2570) before expanding nationally. The film by Academy Award® winning director Fernando Trueba (Belle Epoque) won Best Animated Feature at the 2011 European Film Awards as well as Spain's Goya Awards, has been nominated for an Annie Award, and is vying for an Academy Award® in the Best Animated Feature category. CHICO & RITA has been released internationally to wide critical acclaim and is currently 95% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest rated film in the current Animated Oscar® race.

Harlem Stage Announces Spring 2012 Season, Kicks Off 2/10

Harlem Stage has announced its Spring 2012 schedule, which includes tributes to jazz giant Cecil Taylor and modern legends A Tribe Called Quest, as well as barrier-busting works in music, dance and film.

GODSPELL's Anna Maria Perez de Tagle Set for INTAR Gala, 2/7

INTAR, New York's most acclaimed Latino theatre company, will celebrate its 46th anniversary with a special Gala at the Manhattan Penthouse (80 5th Avenue at 14th Street) on Tuesday evening, February 7th. In addition to celebrating INTAR's vital contribution to the arts internationally, the Gala will feature special awards to Academy Award-nominated screenwriter/playwright Jose Rivera and US Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey. This special event will be hosted by Maria Canals-Barerra, with cuisine from Chef Marisel Presilla.

A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN Returns to Gindi Auditorium at American Jewish University in February

'A Jew Grows in Brooklyn," starring Jake Ehrenreich, returns to Gindi Auditorium at American Jewish University for a strictly limited 15 performance engagement February 7 to 25. The show played to sold out houses last February and is returning to Los Angeles by popular demand. Ehrenreich has given more than 2,000 performances of the show - including eighteen months off-Broadway.
