Wiest & Monk Lead STORIES ON 5 STORIES at Playwrights Horizons, 11/9

Acclaimed theater company Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced nine initial performers who will participate in the return of its unique benefit evening STORIES ON 5 STORIES on Monday, November 9. Among those taking part in the special event will be two-time Academy Award winner and two-time Obie Award winner Diane Wiest (Memory House at Playwrights Horizons/PH, Hannah and Her Sisters, Bullets Over Broadway), Tony Award winner Debra Monk (Assassins at PH, Redwood Curtain, Curtains), Obie Award winner Jason Butler Harner (current Stage Manager in Our Town, Hedda Gabler, The Coast of Utopia), Clarence Derwent Award winner Zoe Kazan (100 Saints You Should Know at PH; Come Back, Little Sheba; Things We Want), Theatre World Award winner Cassie Beck (The Drunken City and Prayer for My Enemy at PH), Cristin Milioti (The Retributionists at PH, the upcoming The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter), Sue Jean Kim (The Drunken City and BFE at PH, 365 Days/365 Plays), Carmen M. Herlihy (The Thugs, Crooked) and Greg Keller (Broadway's Uncle Vanya, The Rainmaker). Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Kimberly Hebert Star In The Public Theatre's THE BROTHER/SISTER PLAYS, Previews 10/21

Kimberly Hebert Gregory, who has been hailed for her fine stage performances by publications including the New York Times and Backstage, stars in the The Brother/Sister Plays, written by the Tarell Alvin McCraney, opening Oct. 21 at New York's Public Theatre. Gregory portrays the role(s) of ‘Aunt Elgua/Shun' in this breakthrough trilogy written by one of the most celebrated young writers working in contemporary American Theater.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company continues its 2009-2010 season, an exploration of the theme of belief, with The Brother/Sister Plays: In the Red and Brown Water, The Brothers Size and Marcus; Or the Secret of Sweet by Tarell Alvin McCraney, directed by ensemble member Tina Landau from January 21 - May 23, 2010 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted.

Michael McKean Chats SUPERIOR DONUTS to Newsday

The Broadway transfer of Steppenwolf's new American play 'Superior Donuts' at the Music Box Theatre celebrated its official opening night on Thursday, October 1, 2009 to superior reviews. Due to popular demand, the producers have announced that the show has extended its booking period through March 2010. Star Michael McKean spoke about the show to Newsday.

West Coast Ensemble Presents THREE TALL WOMEN, Previews 11/12, 11/13 At The El Centro Theatre

West Coast Ensemble presents the fourth and final show of their 2009 season, THREE TALL WOMEN, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee and directed by Michael Matthews (Stupid Kids, The Bacchae). THREE TALL WOMEN will preview on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13 at 8:00pm and will open on Saturday, November 14 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, December 20 at West Coast Ensemble - The El Centro Theatre, 800 N. El Centro Ave. in Hollywood.

LONG STORY SHORT Opens at San Diego REPertory Theatre Tonight, 10/9

SAN DIEGO REPERTORY THEATRE kicks off the 2009-2010 Season with the whirlwind musical LONG STORY SHORT - written by Brendan Milburn and Valarie Vigoda of the band Groovelily - tonight, October 9th after a week of previews that began on October 3rd. The musical takes audiences on a journey through one couple's 50 year relationship.

GrooveLily Returns to the Edison Theatre with SLEEPING BEAUTY WAKES October 2nd-3rd
