Hartford Stage Presents ANTONY & CLEOPATRA, 10/7

A story of the love and loss that gave birth to an empire. A Roman General and an Egyptian Queen, Mark Antony and Cleopatra are great leaders of their time who share a passion for each other-but at a price. Power, politics and betrayal overshadow their doomed and legendary affiair. Joining critically acclaimed Shakespearean actor John Douglas Thompson as Mark Antony is the incomparable Kate Mulgrew (Broadway's Equus, TV's Star Trek: Voyager and Ryan's Hope) as Cleopatra, returning to Hartford Stage for the first time since her memorable portrayal of Katharine Hepburn in Tea at Five!

Kate Mulgrew Stars In Hartford Stages' ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, 10/7-11/7

Kate Mulgrew, who starred as Katherine Hepburn in Tea at Five, one of Hartford Stage's most successful productions of all time, will return to the Tony Award-winning theatre (Michael Wilson, Artistic Director; Michael Stotts, Managing Director) in William Shakespeare's classic play, Antony and Cleopatra. Tina Landau will direct the production, which will run at Hartford Stage October 7 - November 7. Antony and Cleopatra will be the first production in Hartford Stage's renovated and expanded Church Street facility. Construction on the renovation project will take place this summer.

Piven Theatre Workshop extends its 2009-10 season with the Chicago premiere of Sarah Ruhl's adaptation of Chekov's Three Sisters, directed by Artistic Director Emeritus Joyce Piven. The production will run October 16 - November 21, 2010 at Piven Theatre Workshop, 927 Noyes Street

Brescia, Hunt, Greenan & Thorell Join MAMMA MIA! 10/22

Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! will welcome new principals Lisa Brescia, Liana Hunt, Corey Greenan and Clarke Thorell to the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) on Friday, October 22, 2010.

AN ERROR OF THE MOON, a speculation of jealousy, madness and the brothers Booth, began Off-Broadway performances August 13th at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street. The new play by Luigi Creatore will officially open on Monday, August 30th for a limited engagement through October 10th. Under the direction of Kim Weild, the cast of AN ERROR OF THE MOON features Margaret Copeland, Erik Heger, Andrew Veenstra, and BrIan Wallace.
