Four Festive Holiday Shows Make Their Way to Segerstrom Center This Winter

Even with its 'endless summer' weather, Orange County certainly embraces the spirit of the holidays. This year, audiences can look forward to four unique and fun-filled seasonal shows at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The holiday concert season at the Center kicks off with beloved American singer/songwriter Judy Collins in her show, Holidays and Hits (December 6) performing an array of holiday classics as well as her inspiring interpretations of folk standards. This is followed by the whimsical and critically acclaimed show DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL (December 10 - 14). The enchanting and ever popular Celtic Woman returns with the spirited show Home for Christmas - The Symphony Tour (December 15), and, finally, the popular Fiesta Navidad with Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano (December 23) rounds out the holiday programming with an evening of traditional Mexican songs and dance.

Dr. Seuss' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! Will Play Theater at Madison Square Garden this Holiday Season

MSG Entertainment will present Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical at the Theater at Madison Square Garden beginning Friday, December 5 through Sunday, December 28. The limited engagement in New York City has been called "100 times better than any bedside story," by The New York Times. The classic Christmas story by Dr. Seuss springs to life on stage bringing the spirit of the holiday season to children and adults alike. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, August 20 at 10:00AM.

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK, IMAGINOCEAN, THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS - BOOK THREE and More Set for Segerstrom Center's 2014-2015 Family Series

Segerstrom Center for the Arts has announced its 2014 - 2015 Family Series. Eight shows will feature an array of talented international artists who will entertain and inspire families gathered for the spontaneous thrill and joy of live theater. Each performance will be preceded by an hour of free audience engagement activities themed to the show. Performances are in the Center's Samueli Theater unless otherwise noted.

'GRINCH,' BUSYTOWN, HUCK FINN & More Set for Children's Theatre Company's 2014-15 Season

2014-2015 at Children's Theatre Company is a season of dreams fulfilled. There are stories of transformational beauty, three fabulous musicals and an interactive, on-your-feet adventure through the undiscovered depths of the theatre. CTC will also present renowned artists and some of the most tender and poetic characters to ever tread our stages. Artistic Director Peter C. Brosius describes his excitement about each show, and the thrill of merging theatrical splendor with the body, blood and soul of some of the Twin Cities' best artists. Brosius says, "This is a season of surprising worlds and actors who will touch your heart and create characters you will never forget. It is a journey into lands you've never been to and lives you will never forget."

HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL Comes to the DPAC, 12/3-8

Big League Productions presents the critically acclaimed, record-breaking Broadway musical production Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical at the DPAC during the 2013 holiday season. The classic, whimsical tale will now enchant audiences for 10 performances only in the Triangle, Tuesday, December 3 through Sunday, December 8.

BWW CD Reviews: DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL World Premiere Recording is Filled With Holiday Cheer

No Christmas season is complete without enjoying some iteration of Dr. Seuss's classic holiday parable How the Grinch Stole Christmas! at least once. Just in time for the 2013 holiday season, Broadway Masterworks released the World Premiere Recording of the musical DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL. The show had its world premiere in 1994 by Minneapolis' Children's Theatre Company and premiered on Broadway in 2006, with Book and Lyrics by Timothy Mason and an original score by Mel Marvin. Since it's initial Broadway production it has enjoyed a second run on Broadway, a 2008 US Tour, a run in Los Angeles in 2009, and North American National Tours in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Masterworks Releases HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! Album

Masterworks Broadway in Partnership with Running Subway and Dr. Seuss Enterprises announces the release of the World Premiere Recording of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. The recording, which features original Broadway cast members Patrick Page as "The Grinch" and John Cullum as "Old Max," is available now on CD and digital download.

The Old Globe presents the 16th annual production of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The original production of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was conceived and directed by Jack O'Brien with Additional Lyrics by Theodor S. Geisel, Additional Music by Albert Hague and original choreography by John DeLuca. Ticket prices start at $37 for adults and $24 for children (17 years and under). Performances are restricted to children 3 years and up except for the 11:00 a.m. performances for which tickets can be purchased for children of all ages. Everyone must have a ticket. A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory Presents PLAY IT FORWARD on Saturday, November 30

American Conservatory Theater 's (A.C.T.) Young Conservatory (YC) Director Craig Slaight is proud to announce Play it Forward, a one-night-only homecoming concert featuring performances by several distinguished alumni of A.C.T.'s YC program, including Joey Contreras (singer/songwriter), Rozzi Crane (National Tour with Maroon Five and Kelly Clarkson), Darren Criss ("Glee," How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway), Julia Mattison (Godspell on Broadway), Alysha Umphress (American Idiot on Broadway) and George Watsky (slam poet/rapper). This dazzling showcase performance will also feature current A.C.T. Young Conservatory students. Alumna Angela Lin (Chinglish on Broadway) will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The star-studded event will also include a live auction featuring several once-in-a-lifetime items including a fabulous dinner for eight in your home prepared by "MasterChef Junior" contestant and current YC student Gavin Pola as well as bi-coastal "behind-the-scenes" experiences in New York and Los Angeles with YC Alumni currently working in television, film, or stage as well as. These packages include a personal tour with YC Director Craig Slaight, flight, hotel accommodations and food.
