According to the Associated Press, HAIRSPRAY creator Mark O'Donnell passed away today in his Upper West Side home. He was 58 years old.

At this time, Goodspeed Musicals regrets to inform you that, due to her recent injuries on the set of "The Good Wife," Kristin Chenoweth will not be able to attend their gala, as she is at home recuperating. However, the show will go on as planned, with Broadway, film, and television star Alan Cumming accepting the award in her absence and a Special Tribute Performance by Tony- and Grammy-nominated composer Andrew Lippa. They will be joined by Goodspeed alums Kirsten Wyatt (Gooch in Goodspeed's Mame) and Khris Lewin (Goodspeed's My One and Only.)

We caught up with the very, very busy Rob McClure, who has been seen waddling around New York City, baggy pants, cane-in-hand, twitchy mustache tickling and already capturing the crowd as the incomparable Charlie Chaplin.

Ridiculously silly in all the right ways and featuring a comically gifted, star-studded principal cast--headed up by Richard Kind, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rebecca Romijn, Dane Cook, Gary Beach, and Roger Bart--that delivers the goods with infectious gusto, this large-scale revival on this outdoor arena elicits a huge chorus of laughter. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aline Brosh McKenna has been chosen to rewrite Columbia Pictures upcoming film adaptation of ANNIE. A previous script of the remake had been penned by Emma Thompson.
