Directed by James Ortiz and Claire Karpen, with associate direction by Devin Dunne Cannon. The Woodsman begins performances Tuesday, January 13, 2015 and opens Sunday, January 18, 2015. The Woodsman will play a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, February 22, 2015. The Flea Theater has announced another extension of Kim Davies' World Premiere SMOKE, directed by Flea Resident Director Tom Costello (The Wundelsteipen (and other difficult roles for young people)) and featuring members of The Bats, the resident acting company at The Flea. Says Producing Director Carol Ostrow, "where 50 Shades of Grey dances on the surface of BDSM, Smoke cuts to the core."

Kansas City Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Eric Rosen today announced additions to KC Rep's artistic staff. Jason Chanos has been hired as the new Associate Artistic Director and Marissa Wolf in the newly created position as Director of New Work/Artistic Associate. Chanos will begin January 5, 2015 and Wolf will begin December 10, 2014.
Casting is complete for the three developmental productions featured in 2014 New Stages, a free annual festival of new American plays that also includes three staged readings.
Crowded Fire Theater (CFT), one of the Bay Area's most innovative and critically acclaimed producers of new plays, today announced an upcoming change in leadership. After six seasons at its helm, Marissa Wolf will be leaving the position of Artistic Director at the end of Crowded Fire's 2014 Season. Wolf took over artistic leadership of the company in 2008 after founding Artistic Director Rebecca Novick's departure a year prior.
