In Tall Buildings is the title of this record, the name of the band, and the title of a John Hartford song. This 'band' is really Erik Hall and his songs. Erik is a natural multi-instrumentalist, equally at home playing electric guitar and percussion in NOMO, fuzzed-out bass in His Name Is Alive, or Motown-inspired drums in Saturday Looks Good To Me.

The Ruckus Theater hops into the teenage decade of the second millennium by announcing two additions to its 2009/2010 season: the world premiere of The Gay American by Kristian O'Hare, directed by Artistic Director Allison Shoemaker (May 2010), and a workshop of the world-premiere musical Escape from the Vienna Boys Choir, book Aaron Dean, music and lyrics by Jason Rico (June 2010); both are produced at The Side Project Theatre (1439 W Jarvis).

Folk-pop trio The Sweet Remains have been announced as Top Twelve Finalists in The New York Songwriters Circle 2009 Songwriting Contest. The band's dreamy escape song 'Easy', from their debut CD 'Laurel & Sunset', is the nominated track - they'll perform it live at a finale event at The Bitter End in NYC on November 18th.

Conceived by Brendan Kennedy and presented by Neal Medlyn and Catch in association with Performance Space 122, the evening-length performance will feature work by a vast array of downtown superstars showing pieces inspired by each song from the album, much as the Joffrey Ballet's (in)famous Billboards choreographed the songs of Prince.
