TheaterWorks, the professional regional theater in Downtown Hartford, has staged one of the most significant coups in recent regional theater history.

Producer Orin Wolf and Off the Aisle Productions have announced that It Must Be Him, a new comedy by Kenny Solms, co-creator and writer of the legendary, Emmy Award-winning 'Carol Burnett Show,' will premiere this summer at the Peter J. Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street). Directed by Daniel Kutner, It Must Be Him began performances on Tuesday, August 24, and officially opened on Wednesday, September 1. The limited engagement ends Sunday, September 26.

Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) announced today that Diane Claussen, Managing Director of the Company, will leave the organization next month to assume the role of Managing Director at Northwestern University's Theatre and Interpretation Center. She will also teach Arts Management in Northwestern's Department of Theatre.

September 23, 2010 Capital Stage prepares for its sixth season with the opening of the Sacramento Premiere of Theresa Rebeck's Mauritius (maw-rish-uhs). The sixth season will also mark Capital Stage's final season performing on board the Riverboat Delta King. The company recently announced plans for a move to midtown in the Spring of 2011.

The reading, located at the Roy Arias Studio, is free and open to the public, though reservations are required as seating is extremely limited.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor will co-star in the world premiere comedy TRUST, written by Paul Weitz, directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12. The production runs through September 5.

The New York Times is reporting that the revival of YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU will no longer open this fall as scheduled, nor will it play its planned pre-Broadway run at Huntington stage. Due to what lead producer Elizabeth McCann says was the busying schedule of director Anna D. Shapiro, and the passing of Martin Sheen on the lead role the production has now been delayed pending the finding of a star and theatre. No new dates have been announced.

Noble Fool Theatricals, the premier professional theater in the Fox Valley area, is proud to announce recent news and a new direction for their nonprofit organization. The 2011 Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum season was announced today by Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie. Stellar actors such as Jane Fonda, John Lithgow and Olympia Dukakis will be featured in plays by Moisés Kaufman, John Lithgow and Morris Panych, respectively, plus works by Lanford Wilson and Theresa Rebeck will be presented in the Taper's 44th season at the Los Angeles Music Center.
