Dr. Seuss Launches Nationwide 'Kid, You'll Move Mountains' Contest

NEW YORK, March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ Today, on Dr. Seuss's birthday and in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the last book of his career, Oh, the Places You'll Go!, Dr. Seuss Enterprises is launching 'Kid, You'll Move Mountains,' a nationwide search for children ages 5 to 18 who excel in the areas of STEAMScience, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Curiosity and ingenuity are at the center of STEAM learning. Throughout his extraordinary career, Dr. Seuss inspired his young readers to ask questions and use their imaginations.

New Dr. Seuss Book, WHAT PET SHOULD I GET? to be Published, 7/28

An original manuscript with accompanying sketches by Dr. Seuss, aka Ted Geisel, which was discovered in the La Jolla, California home of the late beloved children's author will be published by Random House Children's Books, it was announced today by Barbara Marcus, President & Publisher, and Susan Brandt, President, Licensing and Marketing, Dr.Seuss Enterprises, L.P. WHAT PET SHOULD I GET? will be published on July 28, 2015.

San Diego History Center Launches Centennial Celebration with Dr. Seuss Exhibition, 11/21

The San Diego History Center, located in Balboa Park, will launch its 2015 Centennial Celebration year on Friday, November 21, 2014, with a marquee exhibition celebrating San Diego's renowned local author, Theodor Geisel. Entitled INGENIOUS! The World of Dr. Seuss, the exhibition, developed in cooperation with locally-based Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.P. and Chase Art Companies, will feature artwork by Geisel, some inspired by San Diego locales. This whimsical fun-filled exhibition will also include family-friendly activities based on Dr. Seuss books' underlying themes: Literacy, the Environment, Family, and Community.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) brings the humor and magic of Dr. Seuss to life onstage this summer for young audiences and their families in the Broadway musical comedy Seussical. Playful, energetic and full of whimsy, Seussical engages the imagination with clever lyrics and melodies, unforgettable characters and the colorful world of Dr. Seuss. Seussical is written by the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, whose works include Ragtime, Once on This Island and the current Broadway production of Rocky, The Musical. Eric Idle of Monty Python and Spamalot fame co-conceived the musical. Directed by Scott Weinstein with musical direction by Michael Mahler, Seussical will be performed July 5 through August 17 in CST's Courtyard Theater.
