Over 500 Organizations Join THE GHOSTLIGHT PROJECT; Broadway Stars Will Gather in Times Square!

As previously announced, at 5:30pm on January 19, 2017, at sunset the eve of the Inauguration, more than 500 theaters, ensembles and companies, high school and university theater programs will gather across the country to light a light and make a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone - regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley to Participate in THE GHOSTLIGHT PROJECT

On the eve of the Presidential Inauguration, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will join with others in the theatre community - from Broadway to regional theatres to high schools and colleges, and community theatres - at 5:30pm, Thursday, January 19, 2017 to participate in The Ghostlight Project. While The Ghostlight Project is planned to gather the community outside of theatres, TheatreWorks - which does not present at a single home base - will live stream its event from its many theatre spaces including the Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto, the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, a TheatreWorks classroom, and TheatreWorks' Hambly Rehearsal Hall in Redwood City.  It can be viewed on Facebook Live at: https://www.facebook.com/TheatreWorksSV.

Westport Country Playhouse to Launch New 'Story Explorers' Program

Westport Country Playhouse, The Westport Library, and Westport Young Woman's League are partnering for a new, free-of-charge program, 'Story Explorers,' beginning in January, intended to promote childhood literacy while also enhancing children's experiences of attending the Playhouse's Family Festivities shows.

Broadway-Bound COME FROM AWAY Cast, Creative Team Set for Guggenheim Panel, Plus Performance!

As previously announced, on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presents a discussion with Canadian writer duo Irene Sankoff and David Hein, Tony-nominated choreographer Kelly Devine, and Tony-nominated director Christopher Ashley on the creative process behind the new musical Come From Away, which will open on Broadway on March 12. Members of the cast will perform highlights from the show.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2016/2017 season with Beth Henley's brilliantly imaginative tale of relationships, Crimes of the Heart. Three hard-luck sisters reunite in their small, pitiless Mississippi hometown, each nursing her own grudge. In a hurricane of hilarity and hurt, Lenny is turning 30, Meg is fresh from rehab, and Babe is out on bail. The boundaries of sisterhood are put to the test as each sibling comes to terms with her dreams gone awry. 

BWW Review: OTHER PEOPLE'S HAPPINESS at TheatreWorks

Adam Seidel's new play OTHER PEOPLE'S HAPPINESS premiered this weekend at TheatreWorks, and runs through Jan 29. Under the direction of Leah Bray Nichols, this play won the 2015-16 NewWorks@TheWorks Playwriting Competition.

Douglas Morrisson Theatre to Show World Premiere of CHARLEY'S AUNT '66

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre 2016-2017 37th Season continues with the World Premiere of a wonderfully silly farce: CHARLEY'S AUNT '66, freely adapted by Scott Munson from Brandon Thomas' classicCharley's Aunt. CHARLEY'S AUNT '66 will have 15 performances, including one preview, February 9 through March 5, 2017, at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre, 22311 N. Geva Presents Rajiv Joseph's THE LAKE EFFECT

???????Geva Theatre Center presents The Lake Effect, Rajiv Joseph's play about family, friendship and food. The Lake Effect will be performed in the Fielding Stage from February 2 to February 19.
