The New York Pops Will Honor Kelli O'Hara and Bartlett Sher at 2017 Gala

On Monday, May 1, 2017, The New York Pops celebrates its 34th birthday with a grand gala evening honoring Tony Award winners Kelli O'Hara and Bartlett Sher, whose collaborations over the last decade have won universal acclaim and whose individual careers represent pinnacles of achievement in the world of theatre.

Robert Joy to Star in Seattle Rep's KING CHARLES III; Cast Announced!

Seattle Repertory Theatre today announced complete casting for the 2015 Oliver Award-winning Best New Play, King Charles III, Mike Bartlett's runaway smash hit, a contemporary and provocative comedy drama about Prince Charles' ascension to the throne upon the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth. It is a powerful piece about press intrusion, backroom politics, and the timeless magnetism of power.

Sarah DeLappe's All-Female Soccer Play THE WOLVES Gets Encore Off-Broadway

The world premiere of The Wolves, Sarah DeLappe's debut play, was met with widespread critical acclaim and sold-out houses when it opened on September 11 of this year. In response to popular demand, The Playwrights Realm, by arrangement with Scott Rudin and Eli Bush, will present a limited, encore engagement of the production from November 29-December 24.  

Hubbard Street to Present Two World Premieres This November

 Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, under the artistic direction of Glenn Edgerton, announces today, full programming for Season 39 Fall Series November 17- 20, 2016 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. Highlighting the engagement, Hubbard Street Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo's 15th original work for the company, a world premiere piece by 2013 Guggenheim Fellow and inaugural Harris Theater Choreographer in Residence Brian Brooks as well as the revival of two ensemble works by Ji?i Kylian.

PLENTY, Starring Rachel Weisz, Extends Again at The Public

The Public Theater has announced a final extension today for the first major New York revival of PLENTY, written by David Hare. Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux, the show began performances on Tuesday, November 4 and was originally extended through Sunday, November 20. It will now run through Thursday, December 1, with an official press opening Sunday, October 23.

Lynn Nottage's SWEAT Begins Tonight at The Public

The Public Theater presents the extended New York Premiere of SWEAT by Lynn Nottage. Directed by Kate Whoriskey, SWEAT begins performances tonight, October 18 and was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, November 20. It will now run through Sunday, November 27 with an official press opening on Thursday, November 3.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre Opens Season with Shakespeare's KING LEAR

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) opens its 2016-17 season with William Shakespeare's King Lear. Associate Artistic Director Dale AJ Rose will direct.  Performances will be held in the Harriet S. Katonah Museum of Art to Honor Theatre, Opera & Film Director Julie Taymor

Award-winning director, playwright, and costume designer Julie Taymor will receive the Himmel Award (2016) in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the worlds of theatre, film, and opera. The Himmel Award and Lecture will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2016, 5 PM. The event will start with conversation between the Museum's Executive Director, Darsie Alexander and Julie Taymor. An optional VIP wine reception with the awardee will follow.

Rehearsals Begin Today for Theatre for a New Audience's THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS

 Rehearsals begin today at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place, for Theatre for a New Audience's New York premiere of Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni adapted by Constance Congdon from a translation by Christina Sibul and featuring Steven Epp.  Directed by Christopher Bayes, The Servant of Two Masters begins previews Sunday, November 6, at 7:30pm for a Wednesday, November 16, opening.  The run is scheduled through Sunday, December 4.

Jessica Hecht and Tony Shalhoub to Read ABOUT ALICE at The New Yorker Festival

The New Yorker Festival will present a Theatre for a New Audience production of a reading of the new two-character play About Alice that Calvin Trillin adapted from his memoir about his late wife, the educator Alice Stewart Trillin. About Alice, with Jessica Hecht as Alice and Tony Shalhoub as Calvin and directed by Leonard Foglia, will be heard one night only at the Directors Guild Theatre, 110 West 57th Street, Today, October 8, at 7:00pm.

Theatre for a New Audience Moves Up THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS

Theatre for a New Audience has moved up the opening date for the New York premiere of The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place, to Wednesday, November 16, at 7:30pm, one day earlier than originally announced.

Sarah Ruhl's New Play SCENES FROM COURT LIFE Opens Yale Rep's 50th Season Tonight

Yale Repertory Theatre, celebrating 50 years of daring artists, bold choices, and adventurous audiences, presents the world premiere of Scenes from Court Life, or the whipping boy and his prince by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Mark Wing-Davey, now through October 22 at Yale University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is tonight, October 6.
