Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) has spent the past 50 years serving the Houston community from our first performance at Miller Outdoor Theatre to the more than 300 productions TUTS has staged at Miller, The Music Hall, and now at the Hobby Center. With our 50th Season, we will build upon the legacy, of our founder, Frank M. Young, and confidently step forward into the next 50 years!

The play will be directed by Bickford Theatre Producing Artistic Director Eric Hafen. Accomplice will be performed from January 25 February 4, 2018. It is written by Rupert Holmes and is a winner of the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Award.
The Keegan Theatre opens 2018 with the Washington, DC premiere of Paul Slade Smith's award-winning stage comedy, UNNECESSARY FARCE. Opening on January 23, this delightfully hilarious comedy is directed by Ray Ficca and features actors Jon Townson, Noah Shaefer, Mario Baldessari, Karen Novack, Emily Levey, Jenna Lawrence and Christopher Herring. Ray Ficca most recently appeared on the Keegan stage as Flan in SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION. High school election musical VOTE! will play a limited run at Los Angeles's Rockwell Table and Stage for six performances only-- January 11,12,13 and 18,19, 20. Executive produced by Kate Pazakis, the show, with book and lyrics by Ryann Ferguson and Music and lyrics by Steven Jamail is co-directed by Ferguson, and Haviland Stillwell, the first actress to ever play the lead role.
Broadway celebrity Tommy Tune returned to his hometown of Houston recently and received a big, Texas style welcome from Houston oil executive Tony Petrello and his wife Cynthia. To welcome the Broadway star home, the couple invited 50 friends as well as the Miller Outdoor Theatre advisory board members to their Shadyside estate for a party.

The 5th Avenue Theatre is the first producing theater company in the Pacific Northwest to be granted the rights to create its own refreshed version of the show, which toured the world for nearly 20 years.

In partnership with Lythgoe Family Panto, Theatre Under the Stars has opened their family-fun, holiday-filled interactive production Sleeping Beauty and Her Winter Knight to Houston audiences. With a star-studded cast, popular music, and a storybook vibe, Kris Lythgoe's Sleeping Beauty and Her Winter Knight had both the children and the parents in the audience laughing, shouting at the characters onstage, and erupting in applause. This production tells the tale of the cursed Princess Aurora (Lauren Taylor) on the brink of her eighteenth birthday, and the handsome Prince (Garrett Clayton) on the road to his wedding day with the Princess, as the evil fairy Carabosse (Debbie Gravitte) does everything in her power to sabotage the kingdom.

Original BRIGHT STAR lead, Carmen Cusack, will revive her role, for which she received universal raves and a 2016 Tony Award nomination.
