The search for the actor who will portray the title role in LINCOLN for the premiere season of the new theatrical experience at Indiana?s Lincoln Amphitheatre, includes a modern twist.

Laura Bell Bundy, who originated the role of Elle Woods in the Broadway hit musical Legally Blonde, will be signing copies of the 'Legally Blonde' soundtrack at Books-A-Million, 1201 Main St. in the Houston Pavilions next Thursday, February 19 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Come on down and meet this talented, Tony Award-nominated musical gem!

The producers of ROCK OF AGES announced the complete, awesome cast for Broadway's new, smash hit musical today. Constantine Maroulis, ('American Idol' Season 4, Broadway's The Wedding Singer, RENT) reprising his critically acclaimed role as 'Drew', is now joined by Broadway's best 1970's & 1980's period actors Amy Spanger (The Wedding Singer, Kiss Me Kate) as 'Sherrie' and James Carpinello (Saturday Night Fever, VH1's 'So NoTORIous') as 'Stacee Jaxx'.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is delighted to announce that full casting is complete for LES MISERABLES, the recent addition to the TUTS 41st season! Les Miserables, which takes place of the previously scheduled Meet Me In St. Louis, will play for two weeks, March 24 - April 5, 2009 at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Houston.

'Of course we're holding the traditional series of auditions for the cast of LINCOLN,' says Steve Wright, Lincoln Amphitheatre's executive producer. 'We're also accepting video auditions through YouTube. We'd like this to be a fun contest open to everyone, but also an opportunity for actors to show us their best interpretation of Abraham Lincoln.'

The script of LINCOLN, the new theatrical experience premiering at Lincoln Amphitheatre in June, has received official endorsements from the United States Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission and the Indiana Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. 'We are honored and humbled to have the support of both the national and state commission,' says Steve Wright, Lincoln Amphitheatre's executive producer. 'We look forward to working with both groups to increase awareness of Lincoln's formative years here in Indiana.'

The Legally Blonde Mod Models & Pink Paws Fashion Show! Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Macy's Galleria at Hidalgo, Level 2, 5135 West Alabama UP @ TUTS and Macy's join forces for a evening of mixing, mingling, a taste of musical theatre, a preview of spring's hottest looks and Chihuahuas!

Auditions for LINCOLN's cast are scheduled to start this month at venues in Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri and Alabama. 'Our artistic staff is looking forward to seeing a lot of talent during the various auditions,' says Steve Wright, Lincoln Amphitheatre's executive producer. 'We are searching for an energetic cast who can bring Lincoln's Indiana years to life.'

The Board of Trustees of the Fulton Opera House Foundation announced the appointment of Marc Robin as Artistic Director of Fulton Theatre at a morning press conference on Friday, January 23, 2009. Fulton Board President Harvey Owen opened the press conference by thanking the search committee for their work in recommending Mr. Robin to the Board for the position. 'I can truly say that this committee under Ellen Groff and Deidre Simmons' leadership worked very hard and researched Mr. Robin very carefully,' said Owen. 'The Board felt it had big shoes to fill. Not only did we have a challenge to find a highly qualified successor to a man who dedicated himself to building up the Fulton's image but also an obligation to do so. We owed it to Michael [Mitchell], to ourselves and to the community at large.'

The Houston Chapter of the American Marketing Association has recognized Theatre Under The Stars as Houston's 2008 Marketer of the Year in the Performing Arts category. The Marketer of the Year award recognizes Houston companies, organizations, and institutions for their outstanding marketing efforts. Best of category winners will be recognized and presented their awards at a reception to be held at 5:30 p.m. on March 2, 2009 in the Alley Theatre's Hubbard Stage. At this event, the company selected by an out of state panel of judges to be Houston's overall 2008 Marketer of the Year will be announced. All best of category winners are in competition for this honor. A group of local business leaders and area marketing professionals helped determine the one hundred and seventy six Houston-area firms that were nominated this year. Voting by AMA-Houston's membership resulted in 33 Best of Category winners being selected. The event will also feature keynote speaker Kevin Bertram - Founder and CEO of Distributive Networks discussing: 'How Mobile Marketing Will Change Everything.' Bertram will explain the role that mobile marketing played in the successful Obama for President campaign and its impact for marketers.
