Aurora Theatre Company Continues 26th Season with Premiere of THE ROYALE

Aurora Theatre Company continues its 26th season with the Bay Area premiere of THE ROYALE by Marco Ramirez (Orange Is the New Black, Sons of Anarchy). Darryl V. Jones directs the compelling ringside tale, featuring Calvin M. Thompson (The Barrow Group), Satchel Andr (American Stage), Tim Kniffin (Aurora's Trouble in Mind, The Arsonists), Donald E. Lacy, Jr. (Berkeley Repertory Theatre) and Atim Udoffia (San Francisco Playhouse). THE ROYALE plays November 3 through December 3 at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley. Pioneer Theatre Company Announces Titles for 2017-18 'Play-by-Play' Series

Pioneer Theatre Company announces the titles for the fifth season of its Play-by-Play new play reading series. Play-by-Play provides developmental rehearsal periods for three new plays each season. The playwright works alongside a professional director and cast for a week-long residency, culminating in three public readings of each play available to theatergoers at a very modest cost.

Columnist: My Pilgrimage to Hail Michael Moore's TERMS OF MY SURRENDER

Moore was astounding in this performance; it was mostly about his life and what he believes in. I don't find many comedians funny, but I surrendered to Moore's clever monologue, joined by uproarious laughter from the audience throughout the show. His type of humor is sophisticated and intellectual; he presented his show as a 12-step program for liberals. I'm neither a liberal nor an alcoholic, so going through a 12-step recovery session was a novel experience. One of the traditional steps in such programs involve turning one's problems over to God. Moore confessed, My higher power is Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Following a successful summer run of Aaron Posner's play Life Sucks, Company of Fools' 22nd season of theatre continues this fall with a production of BRIGHT HALF LIFE by playwright Tanya Barfield. Matthew Broderick Among Presenters for 2017 IT Awards

On Monday, September 25, 2017, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 13 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, will present four honorary awards along side the 26 awards for outstanding achievement in theatre. Just announced, Tony winner Matthew Broderick will present the Outstanding Musical Award alongside fellow presenters Charles Busch, Angel Desai, Lane Harwell, David Pittu and Jennifer Van Dyck.
