Further Seems Forever to Release New Album 'Penny Black' 10/23

Further Seems Forever will release their new full length album, Penny Black, on October 23rd via Rise Records. Special pre-order bundles for the album are available now HERE. The original lineup fronted by Chris Carrabba will tour the U.S. later this fall, performing together for the first time since the band's much lauded debut album, The Moon Is Down (2001).

STAGE TUBE: Trailer - LEMON, Lemon Andersen Documentary, to Air on PBS 10/19

Lemon, a new documentary about the acclaimed New York poet/playwright Lemon Andersen, will have its broadcast premiere on PBS as part of Latino Public Broadcasting's arts and culture series VOCES on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 p.m. ET (check local listings), in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month. Produced and directed by Laura Brownson and Beth Levison, Lemon is a Russell Simmons presentation in association with Impact Partners.

Lincoln Center Presents Announces November 2012 Programming

The third season of Lincoln Center's White Light Festival continues in November with "The Spirit of the Body," a work by dancer/choreographer Malavika Sarukkai showcasing her exquisite interpretations of South India's classical dance, Bharatanatyam. Accompanied by four musicians from Madras, India, the performances are presented in the intimate setting of the Baryshnikov Arts Center.

Original Chicago Cast Set for METAMORPHOSES at Lookingglass Theatre, Beginning Previews Tonight, 9/19

Lookingglass Theatre Company will open its 25th Anniversary Season with Metamorphoses, based on the Myths of Ovid, written and directed by Lookingglass Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman. The show will play tonight, September 19 - September 28, 2012. The return of Lookingglass' seminal production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway run, will open at Lookingglass in the fall of 2012 and will then move to Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage.

ZACH Theatre Opens New Topfer Theatre

ZACH Theatre, known as the city's "leading professional theatre" (New York Times) and "liveliest and most polished professional theatre" (Austin American-Statesman) opens its new state-of-the-art Topfer Theatre this month, joining the realm of the nation's most widely recognized regional theatres.

THE MOUNTAINTOP Opens The Rep's Stiemke Studio Season

On the eve of his assassination, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., cools down in a lonely Memphis hotel room after delivering the speech of a lifetime - when an unexpected visit from a feisty, young hotel maid pushes King into a confrontation with his doubts, fears and haunting premonitions. A soul-stirring hit in London and on Broadway, The Mountaintop's humorous, magical storytelling fuses theatricality with spirituality to reach a summit that will leave audiences breathless. The Mountaintop is written by playwright Katori Hall and will be directed by Rep Artistic Associate May Adrales, who returns to The Rep after directing last season's critically-acclaimed production of Yellowman. The Mountaintop runs in The Rep's Stiemke Studio from September 26 - November 4, and opens Friday, September 28.

Harry Groener, Sally Wingert and More Set for CHRISTOPHER HAMPTON CELEBRATION at Guthrie Theatre, 9/15-10/27

The Guthrie Theater today announced the full casts, comprising 39 actors, for the three plays of the Christopher Hampton Celebration. The previously announced celebration of the multi-faceted writer's work will occupy all three of the Guthrie's stages in an immersive and illuminating theatrical experience, with diverse casts tackling dynamic roles torn from the pages of world history.

Vital Theatre Company Extends PINKALICIOUS at The Culture Project Through February 2013

Vital Theatre Company has announced the extension of Pinkalicious, The Musical at The Culture Project (formerly Bleecker St Theatre) due to popular demand. Tickets are now on sale through February 24th, 2013. Performances are Saturday and Sunday at 1 pm through September 23rd; beginning September 29th, performances are every Saturday at 1:30 pm and every Sunday at 12 noon.

Fresh off its acclaimed run at the Cleveland Play House, One Night with Janis Joplin will take D.C. audiences on a musical journey into the life and inspirations of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest legends. The production is led by Cleveland native Mary Bridget Davies, who performs with Joplin's original band Big Brother and the Holding Company, and also features Sabrina Elayne Carten as the Blues Singer who pays homage to the artists that influenced Joplin's incomparable blues-rock blend. Created, written and directed by Randy Johnson, the production is produced in partnership with Cleveland Play House in association with Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich of Premiere Media, with support from The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeff Jampol of JAM, Inc. Broadway to Dim Lights for Martin Pakledinaz Tomorrow
