Commissioner Srinivasan Will Be Honorary Chair of A CHRISTMAS CAROL at the Merchant's House Gala, 12/11

As we approach the 50th Anniversary of the passage of New York City's Landmarks Law in 2015, it is especially timely that we have the privilege to announce Meenakshi Srinivasan, Chair of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, as the Honorary Chair of A Christmas Carol at the Merchant's House Benefit Gala. The Merchant's House was the first building designated a landmark in the Borough of Manhattan at the inaugural meeting of the Landmarks Preservation Commission in September 1965.

'BEWARE OF YOUNG GIRLS' to Make US Premiere at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters welcomes Pegasus Theatre with the US premiere of BEWARE OF YOUNG GIRLS: KATE DIMBLEBY SINGS THE DORY PREVIN STORY, created and performed by Kate Dimbleby, accompanied by Naadia Sheriff on piano. Written with Amy Rosenthal, and directed by Cal McCrystal, BEWARE OF YOUNG GIRLS begins performances on Tuesday, December 16 for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 4. Press opening is Thursday, December 18 at 7:15 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 5:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM & 7:15 PM. Please note, there is no performance on December 25; the performances on December 24 and December 31 are at 6:15 PM. A Noise Within Continues Season with THE DANCE OF DEATH 10/12-11/22

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, continues its 2014-2015 REVOLUTIONary season with The Dance of Death by August Strindberg in a new adaptation by Irish playwright Conor McPherson, which opens on Saturday, October 18and runs through Sunday, November 23, 2014. Directed by Geoff Elliott and Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, this is the West Coast premiere of the new McPherson adaptation, which had its U.S. premiere earlier this year in Chicago. In 2007, Ben Brantley of the New York Times called McPherson "quite possibly the finest playwright of his generation." The cast features Geoff Elliott* as Edgar, Susan Angelo* as Alice, and Eric Curtis Johnson* as Kurt.* Denotes member of Actors' Equity

BILLY IDOL to Launch U.S. & Canada Tour This January

Rock icon BILLY IDOL will embark on a theatre tour of the U.S. and Canada in January and February of 2015. The North American tour, which begins January 21 in New Orleans, is the latest leg of IDOL's 'Kings & Queens Of The Underground Live' world tour that includes previously announced shows in Europe in November 2014.

Photo Flash: Hugh Jackman and Company Begin Rehearsals Today for THE RIVER; Yesterday? Fishing!

Rehearsals begin today, Thursday, October 2 in New York City for The River, a new play by Jez Butterworth, starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo and directed by Ian Rickson. The River begins preview performances in four weeks on Friday, October 31 and will open on Sunday, November 16 at the Circle in the Square Theatre (50th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The production will play a strictly limited 13-week engagement through Sunday, January 25, 2015.

MOSES, THE AUTHOR, a world premiere comedy by Andrew R. Heinze, has been chosen to be presented as part of the 18th Annual New York International Fringe Festival ENCORE SERIES. The acclaimed comedy, directed by Drama Desk Award-winner Amy Wright, will play four additional performances at The Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam Street) -- Tonight, 9/26 at 7pm; Sunday, 9/28 at 3pm; Sunday, 10/5 @ 3pm; and Sunday, 10/5 at 7pm.

URBAN MOMFARE Extends Run in 2014 FringeNYC Encore Series, 9/21-28

Urban Momfare has been selected to extend its run at the FringeNYC Encore Series after a critically acclaimed run at the 2014 New York International Fringe Festival in August. Book by Pamela Weiler Grayson and Alice Jankell, music and lyrics by Pamela Weiler Grayson, directed by Alice Jankell and musical direction by Clare Cooper. Urban Momfare is being produced by Emerging Artists Theatre Company (EAT). A workshop performance of the musical was previously presented at EAT's New Work Series in March of 2013.
