'STORIES THAT DANCE' Plays Manhattan Movement & Arts Center This Weekend

Manhattan Youth Ballet and Manhattan Movement & Arts Center present Stories that Dance: Shakespeare and his Legacy from this weekend, March 13-15, 2015 at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, 248 West 60th Street, NYC (between Amsterdam and West End Avenues) in the Lincoln Center area. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students. Tickets are available at manhattanyouthballet.org beginning Tuesday, February 10 or by calling 212-787-1178. Performances: Today at 7pm, Saturday at 1pm and 5pm, Sunday at 3pm.

Neil LaBute, Halley Feiffer and More to Address Censorship in PLAYWRIGHTS FOR A CAUSE This June

In the wake of the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris, the political controversy surrounding the release of The Interview, and continued suppression of plays, books, and art in American schools, libraries and museums, the battle for freedom of speech and expression is more essential than ever. Planet Connections Theatre Festivity will present an evening of world premiere plays by Erik Ehn, Halley Feiffer, Israel Horovitz and Neil LaBute addressing censorship in the arts in Playwrights for a Cause, to be held at 7:30pm on June 14, 2015 at the Sheen Center, located at 18 Bleecker Street.

UK Premiere of OUTSIDE MULLINGAR Sets Cast

The Ustinov Studio, Bath has announced the cast for the second production in its spring 2015 season, the UK premiere of John Patrick Shanley's bittersweet romantic comedy OUTSIDE MULLINGAR, directed by Sam Yates, from 16th April - 16th May.

New Repertory Theatre to Stage STRONGER THAN THE WIND, 3/22-4/5

New Repertory Theatre announces STRONGER THAN THE WIND written and performed by Alice Manning, March 22-April 5, 2015 in the Black Box Theater at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA. The press opening will be Monday, March 23 at 7:30pm.

MCC Theater Rounds Out 2015-16 Season with Halley Feiffer's 'A FUNNY THING...'

MCC THEATER has announced the final production of its four-show 2015-16 Main Stage Season, which runs August 2015 through June 2016. Playwright Halley Feiffer (I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard) will make her MCC Theater debut with her play A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City. Trip Cullman returns to direct after helming this season's critically acclaimed hit Punk Rock. Full details below. This also marks the reunion of Feiffer and Cullman following their hit production of I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard at the Atlantic Theater Company in early 2015.

Franklin Performing Arts Center to Welcome the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group on 2/21

The prestigious Joffrey Ballet Concert Group graces THE BLACK BOX in downtown Franklin with a spectacular program of dance that includes Gerald Arpino's celebrated signature work, Light Rain. The performance, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, is presented as part of THE BLACK BOX Artist-in-Residence Series, which also features afternoon master classes with Nicole Duffy Robertson, a repetiteur for The Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation and a faculty member at the Joffrey Ballet School, a premiere institution of American dance.

GHOSTS AFTER IBSEN to Run 3/2-19 at the cell

the cell in association with The Furies will present a newly adapted version of Henrik Ibsen's GHOSTS entitled GHOSTS AFTER IBSEN written by Thomas Kilroy and directed by Austin Pendleton. Previews begin Monday, March 2, 2015 and the production will run until Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the cell, 338W 23rd St. The official opening will be on Friday, March 6th at 7:00 PM.

HOME IN HER HEART Extends at Stage Left Studio

Stage Left Studio will extend Margaret Morrison's critically acclaimed love story HOME IN HER HEART. This play with music is directed by Cheryl King, starring Audelco Award winner Ava Jenkins and Margaret Morrison. Previews began January 13 with opening night on January 30. Originally slated to close March 10, performances have been added through April 19.
