Replacing the previously announced production of Yes So I Said Yes by David Ireland which has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts, Not Now by multi-award-winning playwright David Ireland has its English premiere at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season starting on Tuesday, 1 November 2022 (Press Nights: Thursday, 3 November 2022 and Friday, 4 November 2022 at 7.30pm).

Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer and Director of the Ground Floor Madeleine Oldham announced the Residency Lab participants and the return to full capacity of the Residency Lab portion of The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep’s Center for the Creation and Development of New Work.

Dear Readers, I’m going to set the “Way Back Machine” to 2011 where I was first introduced to the works of playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney as the Seattle Rep had produced his stunning “The Brothers Size”, a show that hit me so hard in the gut that I think about it to this day. And while I was still reeling from it in 2012, he presented his astounding “Choir Boy” at the Royal Court Theatre in London. Eventually it made its way to Broadway in 2019 to a huge outpouring of critical acclaim. Sadly, I missed that run but then ACT announced they would be bringing it to Seattle … in 2020. Yup, you guessed it. It didn’t happen then thanks to the pandemic. But now, thanks to the theatre gods, ACT, in conjunction with the 5th Avenue Theatre, have made good on their promise of presenting this amazing work and let me tell you, it was worth the wait.

Rehearsals have begun for Dominic Cooke’s new production of C.P. Taylor’s GOOD, starring David Tennant,  Elliot Levey, and Sharon Small. Further casting includes Rebecca Bainbridge, Izaak Cainer, Jamie Cameron, Jim Creighton, Edie Newman and Lizzie Schenk. Check out photos here!

Live Arts Theater's 2022/23 Transformations Season will open with Caryl Churchill's innovative brain-teaser of a play, LOVE AND INFORMATION, directed by Live Arts Artistic Director Susan E. Evans. Bell Shakespeare has announced its 2023 season, with three new productions touring throughout the country. To mark 2023 as the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's First Folio, the company will stage new contemporary retellings of plays from the Folio, Macbeth and Twelfth Night, the latter featuring all new music by Sarah Blasko.

Darlinghurst Theatre Company has announced the cast of the highly anticipated Let the Right One In, which opens at the Eternity Playhouse on 6 October. Directed by Alexander Berlage (American Psycho) and based on the best-selling novel and film by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist, this spine-tingling vampire thriller of mythic proportions has been superbly crafted for the stage by Jack Thorne – TONY Award-winning writer of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, BBC’s His Dark Materials and the BAFTA-winning National Treasure. 

PlayCo has announced its programming through 2023—three plays that, in radically disparate styles, offer generous and probing explorations of human connection across the complexities of geopolitics, cultural identity, and elaborate workplace lunches.

The Michael Grandage Company announced that their production of Orlando opens at the Garrick Theatre on 5 December 2022, with previews from 25 November, and runs until 25 February 2023.

Anna Himali Howard will direct Ava Wong Davies' new play Graceland, which will run in the Royal Court Theatre Jerwood Theatre Upstairs from Thursday 9 February 2023 to Saturday 11 March 2023, with press night on Wednesday 15 February 2023, 7pm.
