Broadway Star Marc Kudisch (9 to 5, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Assassins) will offer a musical theatre master class on Monday, August 29th from 6:30 to 10:30pm at the Davenport Studio in Midtown Manhattan.

A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) opens its 2011-12 season with The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin. The adaptation by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and Obie Award-winning composer Diedre L. Murray, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Ronald K. Brown, begins previews on August 17 and opens for the reviewing press on August 31 at 7pm. Performances are at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge. Tickets for preview performances are currently on sale, remaining tickets for the run go on sale on July 12. Third Street Theatre has announced its first production in L.A.'s newest 99-seat Equity Waiver house; the Tony award-winning musical FALSETTOS, with book by James Lapine and William Finn, music and lyrics by William Finn, choreography by John Todd, musical direction by Greg Nabours and directed by Richard Israel.

Suffolk University and Boston Playwrights' Theatre present Robert Brustein's Mortal Terror, directed by Daniela Varon from September 15 through October 2 at the Modern Theatre at Suffolk University, 525 Washington Street, Boston.

A CHARITY CASE, a new play about adoption by Australian playwright and director Wendy Beckett, will open Wednesday, November 2nd at the Clurman Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Michael O'Donnell (Cabaret, Spamalot, The Pajama Game, Victor/Victoria, Carousel) will direct Chris Dall'au, Jake Keefe, Lucy Sheftall (Project Shaw), and Danny Skinner. The show will open September 8th and run for a limited 14 performance run at the American Theatre of Actors.
