WAR HORSE Now Seen by 5 Million Audience Members Worldwide

The National Theatre of Great Britain's epic WAR HORSE, winner of five 2011 Tony Awards including Best Play, this week achieved the extraordinary milestone of welcoming its 5 millionth audience member worldwide. Additionally, the North American tour of WAR HORSE, which debuted in June 2012 at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, is now the highest grossing and most attended play ever to tour the US and Canada. Currently playing at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center in Orlando, FL, the tour will next move to Miami, FL for an engagement at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. National Theatre's Original Stage Production of WAR HORSE Heads to U.S. Theaters Today

Fathom Events, National Theatre Live (NT Live) and BY Experience have come together again to broadcast the National Theatre's original stage production of 'War Horse,' pre-recorded live from London's West End, for only one night in cinemas across the country tonight, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m. local time. Based on Michael Morpurgo's novel and adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford, 'War Horse' takes audiences on a journey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of France during World War I. Filled with stirring music and songs, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-size puppets by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to life on stage.

Northlight Theatre to Bring CHAPATTI to Galway Arts Festival, July 2014; Debuts in Chicago, March 7-April 13

Chicago-Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces a forthcoming artistic exchange with Ireland through the co-production of Chapatti, a new work developed through Northlight's Interplay program. The co-production of Chapatti will premiere at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, March 7-April 13, 2014, and will open at the Galway Arts Festival in July 2014. Chapatti, by acclaimed Irish playwright Christian O' Reilly, will be directed by Artistic Director BJ Jones and will feature John Mahoney and Penny Slusher.

Beloved children's book Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat is Aurora Learning Library's winter show that will be performed weekday mornings as a field trip for over 7,000 elementary school students. Based on the high level of interest from teachers and parents, Aurora Theatre is adding two evening performances for families to enjoy this children's classic live on stage. On Tuesday, January 28 and Monday, February 10 at 6:00pm, families will have two chances to see the fully produced stage version of The Cat in the Hat, the play originally produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain. From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and craziest of ideas, he is certainly fun to play with. And he turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure. But what will Mom find when she gets home…?

The National Theatre of Great Britain's epic WAR HORSE, winner of five 2011 Tony Awards including Best Play, will make its Connecticut premiere at The Bushnell's Mortensen Hall January 28. Based on Michael Morpurgo's beloved novel, War Horse, the play is also the inspiration for Steven Spielberg's feature film of the same name, which earned six Oscar nominations including Best Picture.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time transferred to London's West End, following a sold-out run at the National's Cottesloe Theatre in 2012.
