The LA Phil's 2015/16 Songbook Series continues with Brian Stokes Mitchell at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 8:00 PM. The Tony®-winning singer, actor, arranger and musician joins long-time pianist and collaborator,Tedd Firth, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, led by conductor Kevin Stites, for 'In Character,' an evening of Broadway tunes filled with beauty, joy, whimsy, romance, and Stokes' signature, inspired vocal interpretations. Expanding on his most recent album, Simply Broadway (which USA Todaydeemed as 'one of the best albums of 2012'), Stokes will perform such Broadway classics as 'I, Don Quixote,' 'Feeling Good,' 'Wheels of a Dream' and 'It Ain't Necessarily So,' among many others.

Last year during their annual Winter Rhythms Festival, Urban Stages presented a Jim Henson tribute show called The Lovers, The Dreamers, and Jim, and decided to bring it back again this season (presented last night) by "popular demand." Conceived, hosted, and authored by besotted fan, actor/singer Adam B. Shapiro, the well written, if top heavy script, takes us from the origins of Sesame Street, The Muppets, and Fraggle Rock through Henson's fantasy film work. Movie clips and stills refresh sentimental memories as a cavalcade of exceptional songs are performed.

Building on its lead-in at 8:30 p.m., ABC's “Fresh Off the Boat” built 7% week to week in Total Viewers (3.9 million vs. 3.7 million) and was even with its week-ago Fast Affiliate rating (1.2/4), which adjusted up 1-tenth in the Nationals. The ABC sophomore comedy delivered its most watched telecast overall in 5 weeks – since 11/3/15.

With its Charlie Brown Christmas specials and the premiere of “The Great Holiday Baking Show,” ABC took second in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5) to NBC, beating drama lineups on CBS by 23% (1.3/4) and Fox by 33% (1.2/4 – fall finales of “Gotham”/”Minority Report”). The Net won the night among Kids 2-11, with “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (2.1/9) and “It's Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown” (1.8/6) as the night's Top 2 shows, respectively.
