Ron West to Lead The Second City's TWIST YOUR DICKENS at the Goodman

The Second City's irreverent and interactive seasonal satire, Twist Your Dickens returns to Goodman Theatre for its third year with new yuletide yuks and favorite faces. 'A satisfying twist on the traditional tale' (Time Out Chicago), Twist Your Dickens is written by former The Colbert Report writers Peter Gwinn and Bobby Mort and directed by and starring Second City Alum Ron West.

There's a New CARMEN in Town at Florida Grand Opera

Fresh off her debut at London's Royal Opera House and just before her Met debut, Daniela Mack joins Florida Grand Opera's (FGO) cast of George's Bizet's Carmen. Ms. Mack will perform the title role from December 1 through December 3, 2016 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana Join NSO Holiday Pops in Concert

Frequent collaborators, Broadway stars, and Tony Award nominees Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana join the NSO Pops and Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke for the National Symphony Orchestra's annual A Holiday Pops! concerts on Friday, December 9, at 8 p.m., and Saturday, December 10, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.

Eric Owen Withdraws From Duo-Recital, Susanna Phillips To Perform Solo, 11/6

Carnegie Hall today announced that bass-baritone Eric Owens must regrettably withdraw from his upcoming duo-recital with soprano Susanna Phillips scheduled for this Sunday, November 6 at 3:00 p.m. in Zankel Hall due to illness. Ms. Phillips has agreed to instead offer a solo recital joined by pianist Myra Huang and clarinetist Alicia Lee.

Pianist Sean Kennard To Return To Hawaii Symphony, 11/13

Praised for playing that is "full of life and sparkle" (Fanfare), acclaimed pianist Sean Kennard returns to Hawai'i for one-night-only with the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra (HSO) in a performance of Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 at 4 pm on Sunday, November 13.

Ballet and Hip Hop to Collide in Hyde Park School of Dance's Production of THE NUTCRACKER

Hyde Park School of Dance (HPSD) offers fans of ballet and hip hop its annual presentation of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, featuring 206 dancers-from four-year-olds to grandparents-supported by more than 100 volunteers. Performances are December 9-11 at Mandel Hall on the University of Chicago campus, 1131 E. 57th Street, Chicago.

Artist in Residence Matthew Aucoin will Host LA Opera's New Late-Night Concert Series

New this season, LA Opera presents After Hours: A Musical Nocturne, a post-show, late-night concert series featuring classical and contemporary music, performed along with rock and jazz selections. The series will be hosted and curated by Artist in Residence Matthew Aucoin and will feature music ranging from Franz Schubert, Gustav Mahler and Francis Poulenc to Bruce Springsteen, Nick Drake and Radiohead. Taking place immediately following select opera performances, these events will feature an array of artists performing in the intimate setting of the Founders Room, located on the second floor of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, 90012).

Opera at NJPAC Presents Renee Fleming

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with Renee Fleming. Renee Fleming's radiant voice soars in songs and arias from France and Italy, plus Schumann's exquisite "A Woman's Life and Love," and selections from Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I. Pianist Gerald Martin Moore is accompanist.

Los Angeles Opera Presents 1922 Horror Film NOSFERATU Featuring Live Performance of New Score by Matthew Aucoin

LA Opera will celebrate Halloween with two screenings of the 1922 silent classic Nosferatu, featuring a new score created by Matthew Aucoin, the company's new Artist in Residence. One of the greatest horror films ever made, the supremely creepy vampire thriller will be accompanied live by Mr. Aucoin conducting a chamber ensemble of musicians from the LA Opera Orchestra and soprano soloist Liv Redpath, a member of the company's Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program. Presented as part of the company's Off Grand initiative, the screenings will take place on October 29 and 31 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel.

Chicago Opera Theater's THE LOVE POTION to Debut This Fall

For the first time ever, Chicago's iconic Music Box Theatre will host a classical live performance when Chicago Opera Theater (COT) debuts the Chicago premiere of Frank Martin's 1942 'The Love Potion' ('Le Vin Herbe') on September 30.
