Trey McIntyre Project Makes New York Debut At The Joyce Theater 6/2-6/7

The Joyce Theater is thrilled to open its 2009 summer season with Trey McIntyre Project, a contemporary ballet company founded in 2004 by one of the world's most vibrant choreographers, with a week-long engagement from June 2-7. The AILEY II's anticipated two week season premieres Wednesday, April 15th at The Ailey Citigroup Theater (405 West 55th Street). The season will run through Sunday, April 26th.

RIOULT Presents THE GREAT MASS, Running 4/14-19 At The Joyce

RIOULT will present the world premiere of The Great Mass along with three acclaimed repertory pieces during its 2009 New York season, running April 14 - 19, at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue at 19th Street. The Great Mass is a full-evening work set to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Mass in C Minor, and will be joined on the schedule by Mr. Rioult's Wien (1994), Views of the Fleeting World (2008) and Les Noches (2005). The season will include a Gala Fundraiser honoring two-time Emmy Award-winner Sonya Hamlin, president of Sonya Hamlin Communications, to be held at the Altman Building in Chelsea on Wednesday, April 15th (*formerly The Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre).

Dancing with breathtaking physicality and emotional depth, Shapiro & Smith Dance has earned an international reputation for virtuosity, substance and pure abandon. This exciting night of dance includes the world premieres of Medea Medea, a serio-comic rewriting of the Greek tragedy featuring the women of the company and guest artist Ananya Chatterjea; and De Bona Religione, a trio for three men by Eddie Oroyan, as part of Shapiro & Smith's mentor project

Shapiro & Smith's Medea Medea Comes To The Southern 4/9-12

Dancing with breathtaking physicality and emotional depth, Shapiro & Smith Dance has earned an international reputation for virtuosity, substance and pure abandon. This exciting night of dance includes the world premieres of Medea Medea, a serio-comic rewriting of the Greek tragedy featuring the women of the company and guest artist Ananya Chatterjea; and De Bona Religione, a trio for three men by Eddie Oroyan, as part of Shapiro & Smith's mentor project. Two company favorites round out the evening, including A Moment Before (which premiered at the Southern in 2000), and a special performance featuring guest artist Carl Flink in the 20th anniversary remount of To Have and To Hold.

MOMIX's BOTANICA Comes To The Joyce Stage 5/12-5/31

King's LINES Ballet Announces Touring Dates, Lands At The Joyce Theater 5/5-10

Alonzo King's LINES Ballet was founded in San Francisco in 1982, and has developed into a celebrated international touring company. This year touring began in February in Indianapolis, and was followed by 4 Hawaii cities continuing in March to Forli; Bolzano; and Civitanova, Italy then March 19-28 in Lyon, France for the Maison de la Danse, followed by Toulouse, and Arcachon, France.
