Rioult Presents The Premiere Of THE GREAT MASS 1/19/2010-1/24/2010 At The Joyce Theater

RIOULT will present the world premiere of a new work by Artistic Director Pascal Rioult as well Mr. Rioult's: The Great Mass (2009) and two acclaimed repertory pieces during its 2009 New York season, running January 19 - 24, 2010 at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue at 19th Street. The season will include a Gala Fundraiser to be held at the Altman Building in Chelsea on Wednesday, January 20 and a post-performance discussion on Thursday, January 21.

'GROOVALOO' To Play New York City's Joyce Theater 9/15 - 9/27

The A.W.A.R.D. Show Announces Makiko Tamura As Winner

The Joyce Theater Foundation is pleased to announce that choreographer Makiko Tamura (small apple co.) is the winner of The A.W.A.R.D Show! 2009: New York City. Tamura, who competed in a four day event with eleven other participants, received a $10,000 cash award to use toward the creation of a new dance work. Two runners-up, Monica Bill Barnes (Monica Bill Barnes & Company) and Shannon Gillen & Elisabeth Motley (DOORKNOB COMPANY) were each awarded $1,000.

Show! across the country. The A.W.A.R.D. Show! was created in response to a need for a lab-like space in which working dance artists can engage in an open dialogue with the audience about their work. It is dedicated to nurturing new work, discussion, exploration, creativity and to the free exchange of ideas, thoughts and opinions.
