The Broadway League (national theatre trade association) has awarded Wharton Center for Performing Arts a $5000 National Education and Engagement grant to support a program that will allow students to experience and understand Broadway performances as a form of artistic expression and a powerful education tool.

A feisty little girl is still bringing audiences to their feet at the Shubert Theatre every night. Matilda the Musical, based on the beloved novel by best-selling author Roald Dahl, just reached a Broadway milestone yesterday, celebrating its third anniversary. On Tuesday 15 March, four new Seasons joined the cast of JERSEY BOYS at the Piccadilly Theatre ahead of its 8th Anniversary on 18 March.  This is the first time since the show opened in London that all four Seasons have changed.  In the video below, Jersey Boys: A Journey to the Stage, follows a day in the life of the show's four new Seasons, Matt Corner (Frankie Valli), Simon Bailey (Tommy De Vito), Declan Egan (Bob Gaudio) and Mat Hunt (Nick Massi).  Check it out!

SHN Chief Executive Officer Greg Holland announced today four additional musicals that will complete the 2016-2017 SHN Season, including a journey through a Princess' secret vacation in the pre-Broadway premiere of ROMAN HOLIDAY - THE COLE PORTER MUSICAL.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle named the multi-nominated Hit the Wall and Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles as 2015's Outstanding Productions at the organization's 47th annual awards event, held on Monday evening, March 14 at the Moss Theatre of New Roads School in Santa Monica.

Performances begin Tuesday July 5 at the Ed Mirvish Theatre, with the media night scheduled for Thursday, July 7 at 6:45 PM.  Tickets will be available for performances until September 4, 2016.

Following the sold-out success of the first two relaxed performances of Matilda The Musical in 2014 and 2015, the Royal Shakespeare Company will present a third relaxed performance at the Cambridge Theatre on Sunday 12th June at 3pm. This will be the seventh performance that the Royal Shakespeare Company has staged to date. The National Autistic Society and Mousetrap Theatre Projects will again work closely with the RSC, offering full access to the theatre for people with autism and learning disabilities.

Nice workshop presentation of the world premiere of Diana Amsterdam's THE DODGERS. Maybe, joints should have been passed out along with the programs, so that the audience could be on the same plane as the characters in the opening scenes - as Dave Solomon directed - in a most relaxed, lethargic state of being high.
