Ashland New Plays Festival is in the midst of a major change in artistic leadership. Kyle Haden will be completing his 6th and final season as Artistic Director in December, so he can devote more of his energies to the leadership team at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama, where he was recently named Interim Senior Associate Head.

Leah Nanako Winkler has been awarded the 2018 Francesca Primus Prize for her play Two Mile Hollow. Jointly sponsored by the American Theatre Critics Association (ATCA) and the Francesca Ronnie Primus Foundation, the Primus Prize is given annually to an emerging woman playwright in recognition of a play presented the previous year.

Geva Theatre Center's 2018-2019 Fielding Studio Series continues with the world premiere of The Magician's Daughter, written by Lila Rose Kaplan and directed by Shelley Butler. This production marks the second world premiere of the season, following hot on the heels of the world premiere of Brent Askari's Hard Cell - also premiering in January. The Magician's Daughter begins performances on January 24 and runs in the Fielding Stage through February 10.
