Doctors Symphony Orchestra Opens New Season at Ebell, 11/12

Ivan Shulman, Music Director of the Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra (LADSO), has announced the orchestra will kick off its 2010 - 2011 (57th Annual) Season, in their new permanent artistic home at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles. During the course of LADSO's Inaugural Season in residence at The Ebell of Los Angeles, the orchestra will present two concert programs in the Grand Lounge, one on November 12, 2010, and another on March 20, 2011. The season will culminate with a performance in the Wilshire Ebell Theatre on Sunday, June 5, 2011.

Producer John Frost today revealed the full cast of the explosive new musical romance DOCTOR ZHIVAGO. Already announced are the lead cast members-­? ANTHONY WARLOW as the ardent young Doctor Yurii Zhivago; LUCY MAUNDER as the alluring Lara; TANEEL VAN ZYL in the role of his wife Tonia; MARTIN CREWES as political radical Pasha Antipov; BARTHOLOMEW JOHN as corrupt attorney Viktor; and PETER CARROLL and TRISHA NOBLE in the roles of Alexander and Anna, Tonia's parents. The ensemble supporting cast includes a brilliant and talented mix of experienced and new performers.

LOVE NEVER DIES to Open at Melbourne's Regent Theatre, May 2011; PRISCILLA's Simon Phillips Directs

Reps for LOVE NEVER DIES have confirmed to the New York Times this morning that indeed the production will not open on Broadway as planned in the Spring of 2011. Adrian Bryan-Brown of the Boneau Bryan Brown agency wrote in an e-mail to the Times: '‘Love Never Dies' will not be opening on Broadway this Spring...Further news about the show will be announced shortly.'

CATCO/Phoenix Theatre for Children Announce Kicks Off 2010-11 Season, 9/29

For their inaugural season as a combined theatre organization, CATCO and The Phoenix Theatre for Children, in association with Andy Sandberg, will produce a world premiere musical, The Last Smoker in America, Sept. 29-Oct. 24, 2010, providing central Ohio theatre patrons the unique opportunity to be among the first to see this production before it heads to New York.
