RIVERDANCE Plays Final Toronto Performances, 4/19-21

RIVERDANCE, the internationally acclaimed celebration of Irish music, song and dance, comes to the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts for the last time, for four performances only, April 19-21, 2012. This is the last chance to see RIVERDANCE in Toronto, as the North American tour will close forever in June 2012.

Recently, the producer of RIVERDANCE, Moya Doherty, announced that the United States touring production of the internationally-acclaimed worldwide phenomenon will close in June, 2012. RIVERDANCE, part of the Broadway Season, will play in Philadelphia at the Merriam Theater FOR THE VERY LAST TIME, May 11 through 13 for five performances only!

OSF's New Theatre to Get New Name

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival Board of Directors announced today the generous donation of $4.5 million from a group of donors comprised of The Goatie Foundation, Roberta and David Elliott, and Helen and Peter Bing. The gift answers a challenge issued 10 years ago when Jo Lynn Allen of the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, the lead donor for the construction of OSF's New Theatre, passed on the opportunity to name the theatre, issuing the requirement for other donors to make a significant contribution to secure the naming rights. The combined gift from the above group of donors meets the Allens' threshold, and gives them the naming rights.

Davy Jones to Be Cremated Confirms Rep

According to People.com, Monkees lead singer Davy Jones, who died suddenly of a heart attack on February 29th at age 66 will be cremated. The musician's rep confirmed the cremation and shared that memorial plans for the entertainer have not yet been finalized.

EMI Classics Announces Global Release of The JUILLIARD SESSIONS

Today marks the global release of The Juilliard Sessions, a partnership between EMI Classics and The Juilliard School that aims to present to the world some of classical music's most promising young stars in a series of digital EP albums. The three inaugural recordings are by recent Juilliard alumni Paul Appleby (tenor) and Sean Lee (violin), as well as pianist Conrad Tao, who is a Pre-College alumnus currently at Columbia University studying in the combined bachelor-master degree program with Juilliard.
