Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of Boleros for the Disenchanted and Other Plays, a new collection of four plays by the Obie Award-winning and Oscar-nominated writer Jose Rivera (Marisol, The Motorcycle Diaries), which includes the titular Boleros, as well as Adoration of the Old Woman, Brainpeople and Pablo and Andrew at the Alter of Words. Rivera's writing was last seen Off-Broadway at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater in a revised production of the playwright's Massacre (Sing to Your Children).
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG) announce the inaugural round of recipients for the Leadership U[niversity] program. Six early-career theatre leaders will receive One-on-One grants for professional development via mentorships at TCG Member Theatres. Eight mid-career and veteran theatre professionals at TCG Member Theatres will receive Continuing Ed grants for learning opportunities to advance their leadership skills. The overall intent of this program is to strengthen the field by developing the individuals who are the core and the future of theatre.

The Lark Play Development Center announced that Jackie Sibblies Drury will be the inaugural recipient of the Jerome New York Fellowship for 2012-2014. Lark's program is made possible by the New York City's Theatre Subdistrict Council and is the first Jerome Fellowship in New York City supported by the Minnesota-based Jerome Foundation.The Foundation has also supported several well-known fellowships at The Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis.The fellowship is part of an ongoing, long-term plan by the Lark to implement a portfolio of fellowships and programs that provide economic stability for playwrights.
Since 2006 The Tony Randall Theatrical Fund has distributed over $1Million to more than 50 companies. This year the Fund has announced that it will award general operating support grants to nine exceptional theater companies with a proven track record of artistic excellence and ambitious, mission-driven theater-making. Special consideration this year was given to companies committed to the development of new audiences and the production of relevant work with a social conscience.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the cast and creative team for its world premiere of Eve Ensler's EMOTIONAL CREATURE. This positive and propulsive new show - from the Tony Award-winning playwright, performer, and activist who created The Vagina Monologues - features a choreographer, a composer, four top designers, and an ensemble of talented young women. Directed by Obie Award-winner Jo Bonney, Emotional Creature plays only 36 performances in the Roda Theatre.
