MR. BURNS Begins Tonight at Stage West

The electrical grid has fallen, and the world is a dark and dangerous place. How is the human race to survive? And what will take the place of all the electronic devices we use to amuse and inform ourselves? One possible set of answers is very entertainingly explored in in Mr. Burns, a post-electric play, by Anne Washburn with score by Michael Friedman, beginning its 6-week regional premiere tonight, August 6 at Stage West.

Directors Set for Sundance Institute | LUMA Foundation Theatre Directors Retreat

Six theatre directors will participate in the third Sundance Institute | LUMA Foundation Theatre Directors Retreat in Arles, France, July 31 through August 12. The Retreat is part of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community and is one of 24 residency Labs the Institute hosts each year for independent artists in theatre, film, new media and episodic content.

Joe Iconis' New Musical BE MORE CHILL to Receive Cast Recording

Ghostlight Records will record the Original Cast Album of Be More Chill, the new musical which recently had its world premiere production at Two River Theater, Red Bank, NJ. Be More Chill has music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, book by Joe Tracz and is based on the novel by Ned Vizzini. The show was directed by Stephen Brackett with Chase Brock serving as choreographer. Also available on Ghostlight is the cast recording of Things To Ruin - The Songs of Joe Iconis and The Joe Iconis Rock and Roll Jamboree. Haydn Gwynne, Stephen Bogardus, Lauren Molina and More to Lead Huntington's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC This Fall

The Huntington Theatre Company will open its 2015-2016 season with the Tony Award-winning musical A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's most romantic and popular work. Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (after all the terrible things I do; Smart People; Rapture, Blister, Burn; and Becky Shaw) will direct. Performances will run September 11 - October 11, 2015 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

Encores! Off-Center's A NEW BRAIN, Starring Jonathan Groff, Opens Tonight

Jenni Barber, Quentin Earl Darrington, Bradley Dean, Dan Fogler, Ana Gasteyer, Josh Lamon, Aaron Lazar, Alyse Alan Louis and Rema Webb join Jonathan Groff in the Encores! Off-Center production of William Finn and James Lapine's A New Brain, running tonight, June 24, through June 27, 2015. The production is directed by James Lapine, with choreography by Josh Prince.

Tony Nominees Daphne Rubin-Vega & Elizabeth A. Davis to Lead Industry Reading of New Musical AMANDINE

An invitation-only reading of the new musical Amandine, featuring a book and lyrics by Winter Miller and music and lyrics by Lance Horne, will be presented on May 28, directed by Outer Critics Circle Award nominee Markus Potter.  The evening will feature the talents of Tony Award nominees Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent) and Elizabeth A. Davis (Once), along with Nick Blaemire (Found), Erin Markey (Erin Markey at Joe's Pub with Kenny Mellman), John Kelly (James Joyce's The Dead), and Romain Fruge (Threepenny Opera).
