Lavell Crawford Brings Stand-Up Act to the Suncoast Showroom, 6/14-15

Award-winning comic, actor, writer and producer, Lavell Crawford will perform at the Suncoast Showroom June 14 and 15. Crawford's career took off after his national exposure on NBC's hit reality series 'Last Comic Standing," and he has been quickly climbing the comedic ranks ever since. The rising comedy star has repeatedly guest-hosted the "Steve Harvey Radio Show" and has regular appearances on "Chelsea Lately," "Tosh.0" and "Workaholics."

Bernard Haitink Conducts Two Programs With NY Phil to Celebrate 60th Conducting Season & 85th Birthday, Now thru 5/17

Bernard Haitink will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct two weeks of performances highlighting works by Austrian composers - Berg, Webern, and Mahler - and Beethoven, who spent much of his career in Austria. In the first program, Mr. Haitink will conduct Webern's Im Sommerwind, Berg's Violin Concerto with Leonidas Kavakos, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, Eroica, tonight, May 8, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 9 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 10 at 8:00 p.m. Bernard Haitink's appearances are part of an international, season-wide celebration of the 60th anniversary of his conducting debut with the Netherlands Radio Union Orchestra (now the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra) and his 85th birthday.

WICKED Breaks Records at King's Theatre Glasgow

WICKED, the global musical phenomenon that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, is officially the highest grossing production in the history of the King's Theatre Glasgow, with the largest ever number of tickets sold in a four week run. Over 53,000 tickets have been snapped up for the show's sell-out Scottish premiere, which plays from 6 May until 31 May. The record-breaking national tour will also visit the Edinburgh Playhouse (19 November 2014-10 January 2015) and His Majesty's Theatre, Aberdeen (5-30 May 2015).

National Portrait Gallery Presents YOUSUF KARSH: AMERICAN PORTRAITS, STUDIO TIME: CAITLIN TEAL PRICE, and More

Yousuf Karsh: American Portraits Second Installation, May 2 through Nov. 2 This installation includes a second selection of portraits by iconic photographer Yousuf Karsh in celebration of a gift of more than 100 works to the National Portrait Gallery. Photographs include Clark Gable, Martha Graham, Helen Keller, the Apollo XI Crew, Isamu Noguchi, Andy Warhol and Elie Wiesel.

BWW Interviews: Monty Python's SPAMALOT To Open at Apollo Civic Theater

"And now, for something completely different" the musical comedy Monty Python's Spamalot will open May 2 at the Apollo Civic Theater in Martinsburg, WV. Directed by Micheal Stiles, with musical direction by Allison Shafer and choreography by Kat Ward, the area premiere of Spamalot will continue the Apollo Civic Theater's 100th annual season.

Audra McDonald & Dee Dee Bridgewater Set for WLIW21's 'MANY RIVERS TO CROSS' Series, 5/11-18

WLIW21 New York Public Television will air a special presentation of noted Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr.'s groundbreaking series The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. on Sunday, May 11 and 18, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. with enhanced content that offers a unique local approach to the issues covered in the nationally acclaimed series. During the intermission breaks between episodes, interviews include Tony and Grammy Award winners Dee Dee Bridgewater and Audra McDonald.

Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson & More Set for Apollo Theatre's 2014 Spring Gala, 6/10

The Apollo Theater, a leading not-for-profit performing arts institution, announced that its 2014 annual Spring Gala will be transformed into an epic birthday celebration in honor of the storied Theater's 80th anniversary, Tuesday, June 10, at 7pm. Departing from its tradition of inducting legends into the Apollo Hall of Fame, this year's Gala will celebrate the eight decades of artistic brilliance that has been presented on the Apollo stage since 1934. The evening will include special tribute performances by the music industry's biggest artists, some of whom call the Apollo their musical home, including Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Natalie Cole, The Isley Brothers, and more. Hosted by Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated entertainer Wayne Brady.

ON KENTUCKY AVENUE Set for Stage72, 4/22

On Tuesday, April 22nd @ 7pm Stage72/The Triad Theatre, 158 West 72nd Street, hosts On Kentucky Avenue: The Club Harlem Revue - an homage to Atlantic City's now defunct historical "Club Harlem," a performance venue, which hosted all "the greats" such as Nancy Wilson, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and many others. On Kentucky Avenue stars Broadway and recording artist Ty Stephens (Sophisticated Ladies), Cheryl Freeman (The Who's Tommy), recording artist Andricka Hall and features the shows creator, Jeree Wade as 'Damita Jo' and Lee Summers (Original Dreamgirls) as comedian 'Slappy Black.'

Pride Films and Plays Adds 4/27 'SONGS' Performance

Pride Films and Plays has announced that an extra performance of the hit musical Songs From An Unmade Bed has been added for Sunday, April 27 at 3:00. The final performance is still scheduled for that same day at 7:30.
