SF FOLLIES Auditions 12/6, Opens at Actors Theatre 2/9

Bay Area Theatre Director and Producer John Bisceglie, who is best known for his elaborate and colorful musical productions, will be producing and directing his SF Follies musical revue at the Actors Theatre in San Francisco, opening February 6th, 2009, with auditions on 12/6

MC Productions Presents NY Premiere of THE FUNERALOGUES

MC Squared Productions presents the New York premiere of THE FUNERALOGUES, a site-specific look at eulogies and the people who deliver them. Conceived and performed by Stacy Mayer, written by playwright Robert Charles Gompers, and directed by Molly Marinik, this unique theatrical experience has found its ultimate home at All Souls Chapel on New Yorks' Upper East Side. Workshopped at Emerging Artists Theatre's One Woman Standing Festival in 2007, previews begin November 7 with opening set for Saturday, November 15.

McLaughlin to Present New Play, 'Penelope', This Fall at NYU

Actress and playwright ELLEN MCLAUGHLIN, best known for originating the role of the Angel in Tony Kushner's 'ANGELS IN AMERICA', appearing in every U.S. production from its earliest workshops through its Broadway run, will present a workshop presentation of her new play 'PENELOPE' at NYU this fall. 'PENELOPE' is a music-theater piece featuring Ms. Mc Laughlin and a string quartet with original music by Sarah Kirkland Snider. It will be presented at NYU Gallatin School's new Labowitz theatre, 715 Broadway, on October 29, 20, 31 and November 1st at 7 PM with a 2 PM matinee on November 1.

Hypothetical Theatre Company Premieres 'There Or Here' 9/6

Chicago Dramatists Announce 30th Anniversary Season

Artistic Director Russ Tutterow announced Chicago Dramatists' 30th anniversary season, featuring three productions of world premiere plays, and the fourth annual Many Voices Project. Each year Chicago Dramatists, 'the playwrights' theatre,' produces three of the best new plays from the hundreds developed through its many developmental programs. This year, 'Ten Cent Night' by resident playwright Marisa Wegrzyn, 'How I Became an Interesting Person' by resident playwright Will Dunne, and 'Hope VI' by resident playwright Nambi E. Kelley, will make up its production season.
