Two Obie Award-winning theater companies -- The Play Company and Ma-Yi Theater -- collaborate to present the New York premiere of Lloyd Suh's new play AMERICAN HWANGAP, previews began May 9, prior to an official press opening tonight, May 17 Off-Broadway at The Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street) in Manhattan. Trip Cullman directs an ensemble cast featuring some of the country's most accomplished Asian American actors, including James Saito (TV's 'Eli Stone' and Obie winner for DURANGO), Michi Barall (Charles Mee's QUEENS BOULEVARD), Mia Katigbak (DOGEATERS), Peter Kim (THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE), and Hoon Lee (YELLOWFACE).
AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, a brand new dynamic family drama and winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and five 2008 Tony Awards, will play the Curran Theatre beginning August 11 through September 6. The Actors Studio Drama School presents its Inaugural Repertory Season at Pace University, designed to introduce our graduating students to the professional world and the public in fully-professional productions of the work they have created during their three years of study. Here you will witness a weekly series of scenes, one-act plays and full-length plays, some of them written by our playwrights, and all of them directed by our directors and acted by our actors.

Country music star, CMA Winner, ACM Winner and four-time Grammy Nominee Joe Nichols has been offered the role made famous by George Strait in the Broadway production of the hit movie, Pure Country. According to producer Randall L. Wreghitt, the musical is in the process of securing the remainder of its financing and casting, and plans to open in early 2010.
