Way Off Broadway's Children's Theatre Summer Camp is one of the most popular summer acting programs in the area.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Interim Executive Director Joey Parnes) will begin previews Tuesday, February 1 for the world premiere production of Rinne Groff's COMPULSION, directed by Oskar Eustis. The cast features Hannah Cabell, Matte Osian, and Mandy Patinkin, with puppet design and puppetry supervision by Matt Acheson. COMPULSION runs through Sunday, March 13 at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street) with an official press opening on Thursday, February 17. Tickets are on sale now.

Bravo celebrates all things pop culture when recent SAG award winner, Colin Firth, appears on 'Inside the Actors Studio' and the network's latest special, 'The Approval Matrix,' explores today's hottest topics. Leading up to his anticipated Oscar win for The King's Speech, Firth sits down for an intimate interview on Bravo's Emmy nominated 'Inside the Actors Studio' series on Monday, February 7th at 7pm et/pt. Host James Lipton courses through Firth's early days of playing hooky from school to his career that spans the arenas of theater, film, and television. Firth's memorable film roles include Pride and Prejudice, The English Patient, Love Actually and A Single Man.

A haunting American classic, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL marks the first Cleveland Play House production of a work by Pulitzer Prize- and Academy Award-winner Horton Foote, and the world-premiere performance of this play by an African-American cast. Receiving the blessing of Hallie Foote, daughter of the playwright, this co-production with Round House Theatre is helmed by Timothy Douglas and stars preeminent African-American actress Lizan Mitchell as Carrie Watts. THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL begins in the Drury Theatre at Cleveland Play House on Friday, February 4 and runs through Sunday, February 27, 2011. Playwright Pedro Antonio Garcia will bring his fascinating Firehouse, based on a real-life incident, in a World premiere, to the Whitefire Theatre, with artistic director Bryan Rasmussen as director, opening Friday, February 4. The piece will play Fridays only at 8 pm. In our conversation Garcia talks about his roots, how the play developped and its prospects for the Los Angeles audience.

Last fall, the Way Off Broadway Actor's Studio, which was created in 2003 as an extension of the theaters wildly popular Children's Theatre Summer Camp, completely reshaped and revamped its program.

The Common Tongue's CONNECT FIVE unites new writers with established playwrights in an evening of one act plays by award winning writers Wendy MacLeod and Lucy Thurber and emerging playwrights Danny Mitarotondo and Bronwen Prosser.

New York and Boston theatre scenes mash up this New Year to bring the best of both worlds to the Boston stage. Boston's Happy Medium Theatre (HMT) and New York theatre veterans, Jared Culverhouse and Darcie Champagne, are offering a one-day audition workshop, 'Booking the Gig,' which will allow actors to explore and improve technique within a variety of audition situations. The workshop will take place in Boston on January 15th from 12p.m. - 4p.m. The cost to attend is $100 per actor.

Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble, one of New York City's longest-running experimental theatre companies, continues its 41st season with the world premiere of DANCING FOOLS -- three short comedies about the quest for happiness despite obstacles, disappointments and wild complications -- by celebrated journalist and author John Gruen ('Callas Kissed Me…Lenny Too!'), with previews set to begin January 7, prior to an official press opening on January 13 at Medicine Show Theatre (549 West 52nd Street).
